Tips on the Oubliette
I have been trying to defeat the Oubliette, needless to say I've been having a few issues doing it. Any tips?

Use weapons with very high knockback (like a good shotgun or even the watergun) so you can throw enemies into the pits.
At least that works for me.

Yeah, knocking enemies into pits is extremely important in this level because lots of enemies have high health and you have weak items. Also, USE YOUR AMMO. The boss is one of the weakest in the game and has no Master Round reward, so there's no reason not to use your best weapons on the level itself.

Another tip is to pay attention to which enemies have more or less health. The veteran bulletkin (the ones with an eyepatch) and the poopulon enemies both have very low health but dangerous attacks. Shroomers and Shotgun kin have twice as much health as a normal bullet kin so they're the ones you want to knock into pits, hit with transformation effects, or just keep your distance from.

Really? I dunno what game you guys play but I generally don't have a choice of guns. I had to use keys to get there in the first place, and I probably only got a single gun drop from the first floor boss.

That said yeah, don't be afraid to use that gun if it's better than your starter. You will likely find some ammo in that level and you don't need to save it for the easy arse boss. The trash is harder than chamber 2 trash anyway with the exception of iron maidens and the like.

Also, I would focus on killing those blobs first... not the ones that chase you, the ones that stand still and fire orbiting bullets.

Well yeah, you usually only have 1 or 2 non-starter guns entering this floor, but on most runs you should be able to open both chests on this level (if they're a tier worth spending a key, and the shop didn't contain a more useful item).

edit: Also the blobs that stand still are the poopulons, which are one of the enemies I pointed out for attacking first.

Quick question, would the Pilot be better because of the lockpick? Or would one of the starters with 2 guns be better?

Pilot is good for unlocking the most chests possible; though you are able to force keys out of shops by not picking up key drops until you find the shop. The shop will always have a key if you have not picked up a key that floor, and the rat does not steal keys.

If you use that method, you should at least have 3 keys floor 1. Then I would pick either Marine, who has the best starting gun of the 4 characters, or Convict, who has an active and second gun great for room clearing.

Ok, I've been trying Marine. I'll start using Convict

Learn how to handle veterans. Lots of them in the oubliette.
