How to play Co-op?

A friend and I want to play Co op, But we are not sure how to we are in a local server already so that problem is out of the way.

The local multiplayer is same computer only. Not lan or anyting

There is a 3rd party program out that can make you guys play on 2 different PC but one of you will still need a controller or have different control than player 1

This thread explains how to do it. Your internet connection would have to be really incredible though, otherwise it's unplayable. I tried it myself but my internet wasn't good enough at all. Scroll down in the comments of the thread for more details on the negative aspects of doing it online.

Even if it works, there will be input lag between the controller and the game on the other person's pc, which will make it unplayable, since this is a reflex game. So I really wouldn't recommend it. I think that you would be way better off playing local or solo. But hey, you can try it if you want.

Here's a cool thing the mod gungeon will soon have online multiplayer I'd keep an eye on that
