The Gilded Hydra
I'm need some advice.
Concerning the Hydra, it being an S Tier weapon. I find myself feeling like i'm not using it the way it's meant to. I either wait till I'm on my last hit(To reap the clip benefits) or with that awareness use it at full health so I don't have to feel that pressure so much.

When do you think is the right time to use this? At 50% Life? 25%?

This weapon seems so cool, I want to be better with it.
Thanks in advace to any advice.

Addendum
I also felt that it would be cool just to start a thread on various guns and tips to make it shine.
Since I couldn't of any other weapon to ask about on the moment I just stuck with the Hydra.
:P

Could work pretty well with cigarettes. Also works when you have extra hp laying around, could just jump to pits to get the gun better? :flowey:

Somethin' like that. Don't see why you would use it when low hp (unless it already got "leveled up").

Edit: Understood later that gun loses clip size when you gain hp. Well damn. Guess that would mean you use it anywhere below 50% hp, depending on your max hp amount.

It's still decent at least at fully health
Using the gun with a lower magazine size doesn't result in less damage done total, it just decreases your dps. So it's not like any damage is wasted if you use it at full health
If you have nothing that hits harder than it then I'd say use it as your boss gun

That being said I just treat it like a normal strong gun. The bonus to magazine size from taking damage is just a nice bonus and not something I think about very much

Thanks for the Reply!
I see, I'll keep that in mind. What do you guys think about the Disintegrator?

And how do you guys use the Dark Marker? Is the regular fire any good?
I just use it to do the Big Bang attack.

Does the Gilded Hydra work with Robot? Will it always be at full power with him?

Dark Marker I'm not a huge fan of. I think the explosion does the same amount of damage as shooting all the bullets that it uses up. Good for clearing rooms though if you don't miss the charge attack
I personally like the disintegrator a lot, usually a good boss killing weapon for me
Gilded Hydra does not get any bonuses from the Robot

I'd say about 3 or 4 clip size is good for the hydra. You don't need huge sustained fire with the thing. It's powerful enough that just a few shots will kill whatever's troubling you, then you can use the reprieve to reload in cover. You'd often reload before ever emptying out a whole clip with 6 or more shots if you play this way.

If you have a hydra and you're at full health, chances are you don't have an extremely pressing need for it. You can just keep it away until you're damaged a bit or you've run out of ammo. I've never used the hydra as a primary weapon actually.

When you get a Mourning Star, you can kill more efficiently by attacking one enemy at a time instead of always dragging the beam around. It does an immense amount of damage up front, and then the sustained is quite powerful, but can be slower and cost more ammo to keep firing.

Do you know the range on the Big Bang? Do I have to be direct with it or can hit the whole room regardless?

Three or Four clip. What is that, Like half health or does it vary on your max health?

I just found out that the Hyper Light Blaster is really good for bosses, since they are so hard to miss. :)

I really wanted the like that weapon.

I'm trying to find out what distinguishes it from other beam weapons. It has a long charge up time. Is just that the DPS is really high? Because the Morning star seems to be better for the same purpose.

I've never actually gotten the morning star to drop
Gilded Hydra gives you one magazine for every part of heart you're missing
I think the big bang is just a room wide hit, like the camera
Chijiru 25 FEB 2017 a las 15:49
I see, Thanks.
Hand's Hermit Permit 25 FEB 2017 a las 16:28
Disintegrator is high DPS. It melts bosses. That's what makes it good.
Chijiru 25 FEB 2017 a las 17:40
But doesn't the Morning Star do the same thing?
Do you think that there is a difference between the two?
Hand's Hermit Permit 25 FEB 2017 a las 19:07
Probably not much. Lots of guns have to be similar though, there's hundreds.
