Mmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmm
Just don't say that too loud, you may trigger the fanboys, y'know.
I'm fine with not seeing a black market as often due to these reasons, same as why I'm thankful I've only seen the clone item once in 178 hours: because it insta-wins you the run.
But that's just how I feel about it.
I do agree that something like a Glitch chest and certain secret rooms are so ridiculously rare that you maybe see them once during your entire playtime, which can be a bit silly, but at the same time finding new things almost 200 hours into the game is quite fun as well.
Difficult to say, really.
That aside, I don't think BoI and EtG can be compared: while both borrows bullet hell's elements,
EtG borrows more elements than BoI.
Balance is one of those elements.
Hmm... yea, my consideration for this game recently changed from "I love this game, can't way to 'git gud'" to "okay, I don't see myself getting any better and I'm not having fun..." I think you just clarified why I'm not having fun.
You're right, the developers are keeping anything fun about this game away from players that don't have the time to play this for hours on end. As an adult I might have maybe 30 minutes during the week to play a game, maybe an hour on the weekend, and with that time I'd like to sit down and have fun playing a game or at least experience a fun challenge.
When I get into a room and there's an enemy like, right in front of me that I can't avoid or kill because the game decided RNG would withhold a good weapon... well, ♥♥♥♥ this.
BoI : Rebirth offers more 'fun' in that regard? I have the original BoI and held off on the new one cause it seemed like a money grab.
