Mod the Gungeon Bug - please help? (FIXED)

Before anybody decides to be annoyed with me, I've already got all the achievements (save one that I'm going to do without the help of mods later), killed the Lich with every character, etc. Not going to "ruin" my experience by trying out a few godmode-type runs.

However, I want to try out a few rare item synergies, so I installed Mod the Gungeon with the base mod only (the one that grants the console).

Every time I run the game, though, it gets stuck on the black "generating" screen. Anybody else encounter this issue? If so, how'd you fix it?

Update: make sure you have version 16.12.16, no cheat engine edits, and a completely clean game install. Just deleting the game won't work, you'll need to go in and delete literally every file in the steam->steamapps->common->gungeon folder, which is only possible if the entire thing is uninstalled.

Good luck. The Gungeon Mod is great for doing specific item combinations, even if the console it adds tends to bug out after a while.

are you using the pre-release v17.1.30?
i have the same issue with that version.
use the v16.12.16

Pretty sure I was. I'm trying to install that version (again, clean), but now it's just sitting there saying "removing leftover files" while I try to install.

verify your game files will remove the mod. then install the other one

Hmmm. Still stuck on "removing leftover files." This worked fine the first time, and I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the game and verified. Something about access to the path being denied?

I appreciate it. Currently trying to do a manual delete of the offending files and getting some odd errors. Everything got confusing after I tried to install Cheat Engine and use a table to accomplish the same thing.

Hey, fixed the issue. Deleted the mod residues manually, deleted the game, deleted undeletable mod files, re-downloaded installer, ran it, worked.

Incidentally, you'll be on the verge of crashing the game if you combine Ring of Triggers, Bouncy Bullets, Flak Bullets, Helix Bullets, and the Melted Rock with the Railgun.

My screen went very, very white for a while.

use F2 or ~ to open close console. dont use tab to close it

some of them dont work anymore. but useful ones such as stats display and health bar still works.
