How Do I Use the Directional Pad?

I've been trying to use the Directional Pad gun's special abilities (According to the wiki), however, I am unable to input any buttons on it. I am using an xbox controller. Pls send help.

I believe you can use the d-pad on your xbox controller to move. If not, then just try flicking your movement stick directly up and down. Otherwise... It's a keyboard buff. :D

D-pad on the controller changes your gun or active item
I've never actually gotten the dpad to drop. I'm assuming moving your stick in those ways will do it

using the d-pad only scrolls my guns, and using the stick doesnt do anything. I guess I will have to press the keyboard a few times then use it.

That's not how it works anyway Extinguisher. Inputting the combo for a grappling hook or a fireball only works for the first shot, so you can't just input it and then keep the "buff". Directional Pad really is a bad gun except for the stealing and a guaranteed chest.

I don't know how to use it with a controller but the way you described it won't work for reasons above.

darn, i guess i'll just use it up as fast as i can for a chest. I know it can be any quality, but i got a black chest which is exciting!

uh just point where you want to shoot it and use the stick to press down, right. or back, back

Also, it has a hook. I don't remember the combo right now, but it's on the same description, it's someting like "<- <- B" (or shoot, don't remember the last button). And the best of the directional pad is... using all it's ammo.

Well, the fireballs do 45 damage (down, right, fire) and if you can hit with more than one (e.g. Remote Bullets) you got yourself a pretty decent gun, especially for the early bosses.

But yeah, just by itself, stealing with the hook and then getting the chest is often the better choice, I guess.

Yeah but shooting the gun once expends like 5 ammo. Inputting the combo and firing the weapon will only cause the first bullet in all four directions to be a fireball. With Remote Bullets the gun can be amazing yes but you're more likely to not have Remote bullets than to have them ..

It's just a bit too gimmicky to use imo. The only time I've gotten it I just used it to steal few times, then expended ammo to spawn a chest .. Which incidentally glitched out and I did not get a chest .. heard the noise, but nothing appeared.

Btw on topic of Remote bullets, I got the Crown of Guns the other day with Remote Bullets .. Crown of Guns is hot trash on it's own but my god the damage with Remote Bullets was absurd. Also had Stout Bullets with that run too I believe which just made it even greater.

Yeah, I totally agree.
As I said, the D-Pad by its own is pretty meh. I usually spend the ammo on room clears, throwing fireballs, saving a shot (or 5 ;) hehe) for a hook.

I just love how mediocre weapons can turn out to be tasty awesomesauce once you have the right passives.

Weeeeelllll... I did get it with the super hot watch one time, and it has virtually infinite shot speed. It takes five ammo for each shot, but if you just do one fireball, switch, input combo again, fire... it takes one ammo for each fireball and you have a dps that's about 100 in four directions. The Dragun's DPS cap is 65. :D
