He stays in one place a lot. Place a puddle of fire/poison under him if you have it and he takes constant damage

He looks like he's floating though .. is he not?

And what if you don't have any guns or items that do that? I think actual helpful tips as far as his patterns go would be more helpful.

I struggle with this boss too, some of his attacks just seem undodgeable.
Well, fire hurts flying enemies, but aside from that, I think that distance is the most important thing on him. When he transforms into his Bell Form, he reappears where the last one is. Maybe you could try luring them into a corner then running out when he respawns?

Not exactly. It seems this game has different ways to handle those kinds of damage to enemies.
Flying enemies are perfectly capable of being put on fire if you use a Molotov or Fossilized Gun (I'm sure I've done it lots of times)

As for his patterns, I'll try to go on a case by case basis:

Multiple bell clones: You can wait this out if you don't want to figure out who's the real bell. If you're playing as bullet, you can slash them with Blasphemy and they'll pop away without firing any bullets because the bullets will get cancelled out.

Bouncing bullet spam: Hug the walls. The bouncing bullets don't return twice so if you are on the walls, only one bullet will go there at a time.

Bomb briefcases: I've been told you can trigger them and dodge roll to make them explode safely but I don't try it. You can see that they kind of circle around where they spawn. Try to find a safe spot and circle together with it. The boss will send out some waves of bullets, and you should try to dodge roll those (especially if you're too close). Try to seek the safe spots on the bombs instead of camping somewhere.

Fast shots: You might have seen this pattern a lot on the bosses already. It's similar to the ones Gorgun and Bullet King does, except faster. Dodge this as you would on any normal bullet hell game instead of dodge rolling and you should be fine (meaning, walk left/right from the incoming shot's direction following a path between the bullets)

I don't think I've forgotten any moves but this is how I usually deal with them. Good luck on your future runs.

ok thanks
also the bomb thing works
There's also the weird circle one, for which the only method I've found is distance or a blank.

or the spring heel boots

Well I guess I'll give you a non-sarcastic answer.

The first time I met him, I used around 7 blanks. I could've probably used less, but I haven't played this game in several months so I was a bit rusty.

I don't really remember his patterns, but they seemed to be a mix of the bullet king and the balrog.
Dingbat Feb 3, 2017 @ 7:08pm
Meh, he's pretty much the middle boss for me in the 3rd floor (not as bad as Treadnought, but harder than Cannonbalrog.) All but one of his attacks are pretty easy to avoid, but it feels like he has a lot of HP which probably could make the illusion of being hard.

Stay directly above or below him and keep distance if possible. He has one attack of bullet circles that seem to only gravitate horizontally.
