Tips for unlocking the 2nd Chamber shortcut or something?

I'm losing my mind with this, i've been trying to unlock Robot but to do that i need to unlock the shortcut, I've tried absulotely everything but nothing is working.

I've tried not spending cash or keys whatsoever, i've tried doing this as pilot, i've tried selling guns but the guy never shows up, i've tried getting keys as drops but they never show up, and i always arrive with either A. Not enough casings, B. Not enough keys, or C. Both.

Is there some special strategy im missing for this or is it straight up RNG, because holy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ i'm getting sick of this.

have you found the sorcerer yet? there is a special blessing that you get from her that transforms your gun into any random gun after you use it for a whil and you cant pick up any other gun from the gungeon. with that you have no need for money/keys for guns and it gets easier.

alternitively you could try going into the hidden chamber betweein the first and second chamber that can get you the money/keys you need

I haven't found the sorcerer yet, and i guess i could try the secret chambers but im not so sure about the first one though because it costs 2 keys.

Made it to floor 2 with 3 keys and 108 casings, died to a off-screen bullet from Ammoconda.

I managed to do it as the Marine. I got lucky and the one guy was there that you could drop items onto his grate to sell things to him. That's basically what you need to hope for.

honestly you shouldn't bother with the shortcuts until you can clear the game reliably.. doing it when you can't handle chamber 2 bosses is not a good idea because it makes it that much harder since you can't use keys or shells.

Well, the Pilot or Hunter is your best bet. One lets you try picking chest locks open without using the key and the other has a low chance to have a random pickup spawn after a room. Otherwise, you can get it in the second floor or, like I said, hope for the grate to sell your items.

I've been using both of those all the time and never got more than 80, nevermind the keys. It's so stupid that you can't just give him what you have at the time.

It does seem silly, but at the same time, it's not meant to be easy to begin with.

It's not nearly impossible. I had enough at the end of Floor 2 after the boss because they give you lots of money if you don't get hit. Along with the grate person, I was able to get it with the Marine. So it's more luck based than challenge.

Go through the the secret floor. Save up 2 keys on the first floor, go to the secret floor and then go through the second floor. If you don't have at least 3 keys and 120 shells then you had some of the worst rng I've ever seen.
