Honest review : let's start with the negative points first.

- No replay mode (how are we supposted to create shots of ourselves drifting?) mandatory feature that we need ASAP. Don't bother with servers just make old school local replay files we're tired of cloud ♥♥♥♥.
- Drone Mode movements are way too sharp, cannot really do anything cinematic wise with that tbh, also cannot attach drone to car and move freely (pls if you do add this feature do not lock the horizon of the car to it for obvious reasons) right now it's just an independant drone camera with no settings, cannot adjust speed, the roll parameters gets stuck at like 25° ?? really confused on that, needs immediate changes. It's either you make it smoother with more speed, or you introduce a keyframe system to create cameras, but it's way more work. I would suggest working around the drone mode only.
- Game optimization is for sure not the best for now, but still not bad, definitely can improve over time tho
- Menu UI is a bit confusing on main menu
- When we buy parts (rims, tires, lugs etc) please let us equip it right away. We love the idea of the inventory but this mechanic is exclusively when you have a lot of items and can change and customize what you want later on. If we go to the shop to buy new parts we wanna equip it right away on current car.
- Grind / rewards on currency is a bit tough, i don't personally dislike it but i understand players not liking it, it's really "hardcore" to earn tofu coins.
- Cannot look the prices or buy anything in the store, (says something like "purchase failed unknown error"
- Car sounds needs improvement, it's too "repetitive" if that makes sense to you idk how to explain it.

Positive points.

- Game looks fantastic, level design is a 10/10
- Drifting on controller is very fun and intuitive (requires quite some practice to be slick at it which is good)
- Variety of cars is actually great
- Quality of car models, rims and assets overall is crazy good
- Supports Track modding like asseto corsa, huge thumbs up for this. Server creation is allowed on top of that for modded tracks.
- Cool events like the Chase even on the LZ compound (allowing us to test a dlc for free) and it looks really 1/1 to the real life LZ compound, really great

Conclusion :

The game is visually amazing, with great level design, a solid variety of cars, and fun, intuitive drifting on a controller. Features like track modding and server creation are big wins, and events like the LZ Compound Chase show a lot of creativity.

That said, some things need fixing. A replay mode is a must-have for capturing drifts, and drone mode needs smoother controls and more options. Small changes like letting us equip parts right after buying them and improving the menu would make things much better. There are also some technical issues like optimization, car sounds, and the grind for currency that need work.

With these improvements, the game could be a top-tier drifting experience. You have a gold mine in your hand, don't f**k it up, we believe in you. It's simple things. i'm the voice of thousands of players. Trust me on that.

First of all I do get it, that this game is in state of early access.
(I will update review, as game develops)
I`m writing this, because I want the game to be better for all of us, gamers.

I truly wish I could recommend this game, no matter how much I would like to do so. I have 800+ hours in first Torque drift combined PC + Phone, since I`ve been playing this as relaxing drift-cade, it was fun. When I heard about Torque Drift 2, I was excited for having better drift-cade with tandem possibilities, either with random people or with Your friend. But since this came it, it left me disappointed.

Even for early access this game is in rough stage. It barely runs above 60fps on 1440p with 13gen i7 and 3080ti, 32GB of, not the best in market, but not an entry level system with DLSS(which makes devs lazy to optimise game), should be able to handle more. It needs, and I CANNOT STRESS THIS ENOUGH this game needs huge performance optimization ! No need for hyper photo-realism if game cannot maintain somewhat decent frame rates and frame times.

Gameplay.
Cars and tuning is still in progress, again as this is in Early access, however, tuning menu needs UI work, not just one long list where to find, for example rear suspension, You need to go all the way down. Not to mention differential, which is at the very end of the list. This is so user unfriendly. Same for part shop, good luck with controller to select pats. always skips, the suspension (yes,again suspension) either to Wheels or to next part.
Tuning is meh, what metric for tyre pressure ir 0-50, bar/psi, who knows? Hopefully, devs will change it.
It takes a bit of time to get enough "TOFU" game currency used to purchase/upgrade cars and parts, this is grind, which isn`t bad. The bad this is again the UI, as game is a bit of grind either You collect around couple thousands to make decent upgrades all at once or do it part by part, in between of runs. It is so hard to keep track of what parts are already installed from shop menu.

UI, and HUD also needs some work. Why half of the screen space is packed by how much points I have, and right cornet just shows how much point are needed for 1,2,3 places. Again all good, that the information is there, just make it so HUD and HUD elements could be turned off, like point counter and other clutter. For one chase run I focus on drift not on score in the middle of drift, please make HUD more customizable, so the certain elements can be turned off.


Freestyle runs are ok, just to set up the car somehow, as tuning is lacking metrics. Hero runs, where finally some tandems, even prerecorded ones by devs, are possible, there are couple HUGE problems. Since Torque Drift 2 has a FormulaD partnership, they should know how tandem runs work, however, in game it is opposite. In HERO runs, when countdown 3-2-1-Start lead car starts taking off starting life at 1, not at Start. In which part of the world lead car can start earlier than chase car? In FormulaD and in all over the world drift events chase car can start a bit earlier. How can game which started as Tandem orientated and is in partnership with FormulaD get this so wrong?

Lead car is lagging, back and forth, making it nearly impossible to have decent chase run. Collisions are so bad, car bounces like its not a drift but table tennis, again its in early access, this should get better. For now only viable options are single player runs or try to do HERO ( chase ) runs. Making online lobby is absolute garbage. Either all lobbies are 200+ ping or You make Your own lobby, ping will be around 60+ ms. Does not sound that bad, right...Well no. As the lobby is created in Torque Drift dedicated servers and even with 50ping the inputs are so delayed its impossible to get online with anyone.



I cannot recommend this game at this state, needs a lot of work. I wish this game can become decent drift-cade to chill with all the OFFICIALLY licensed cars, part brands (even Toyota) and FormulaD partnership. If the devs ignore all the feedback which players are giving and nothing changes, all the partnerships from brands and ForrmulaD should reconsider, do they want their Brand being associated with this game.

Why is it, when I play this my 4070ti cant handle the lowest quality settings to get a maximum fps of 59. But when I'm out playing Car X with 90 fps with MAX GRAPHICS on their OPEN WORLD Game I have no issues.

This is a track game, if the optimisation is so bad that I need to wind down the graphics to the absolute worst settings to get some kind of nice game play what was the point of releasing this. This is an absolute joke.

We just had "UPDATE 0.13" which did not address a single thing about the graphics or how this will be improved. Waste of Money and waste of time. I feel bad for the Professional drifters like Mad Mike who i follow, that have their cars displayed on this mess.

I want to preface this review by saying that I actually worked for this company in the past and was working on the previous Torque Drift 1. (I made some advertising for Torque Drift 2 early on in development)

If you played the previous game and have been put off on this one, I recommend that you still give this one a go, it is a substantial improvement over the first in every single way.

The physics are intuitive and feel much more polished, the details modelled into each car and environment are honestly the best in the industry.

I’ve been following the game since its Epic games launch and the changes made have been extraordinary. This team truly listens to constructive feedback, the entire currency system has been changed and is being tweaked to be as centred and as fair as possible.

This game is early access and is being updated constantly, there are a lot of difficulties to run this game with previous gen hardware like I have got. I think there’s still room for improvement in terms of the optimisation, but huge strides have already been made, I can run it FAR better than on the previous epic launch.

I’d also like to see the loading screens taken out when restarting a run or loading a new drift skills course. I was getting a bit frustrated when starting new runs not because I was screwing up but because I knew I had to sit in a loading screen.

I was also very pleased with the controller support and the tutorials. I think it helps a lot. I’d like to see some streamlining between the shop and the inventory but overall the controls are intuitive.

I believe the game is worth the price of admission simply for the stunning details and recreations of the cars and tracks. Ebisu especially just blows my mind.

While its obvious that the game is still in development I don’t think that’s a bad thing at all, it means more than ever that players have the ability to continue to help shape the game into something awesome. Considering what has already changed since launch I can’t wait to see where it goes.

So yeah if you’re into drifting or cars in absolutely any sense at all I’d say this is more than worth it for you to have to experience, and if not now then definitely once it completes early access. I have no doubt that the game will continue to get updates and new content to stay excited for.

Rough, barebones and poorly optimized, but it's fairly good (for an "ultra arcade game"), give it a few more months and we most likely will have a gem at our hands.

Good game with great potential. Can't recommend yet, because the game keeps randomly crashing or freezing. Until this issue isn't resolved, I can't recommend. Plus the game needs optimization. But when the game is running without problems, it can be enjoyable.

You'd think they would learn from the first game but no, here we are again. The list goes on about how ♥♥♥♥ and unrealistic this is, 5th gear pull? gotcha, multiple 360's when going 30mph? gotcha. transitioning mid drift shouldn't let you snake all over the track when your not on throttle nor going quickly. handling is exactly the same as torque drift 1 and its a massive let down and to not even be able to slide properly in a low power car is another reason ill probably smash another controller.

p.s dont even bother buying the packs with the cars as i did, ill save you money and say build your own car because my chaser handles better than that ♥♥♥♥

Maybe the devs should focus on finishing the base game before putting out micro-transaction ($5-18usd) "bundles" they use to promote the sale of the game. Not enough content and clearly designed to incentivise purchasing content that should have been included in the game in the first place.
