There is no-way to remove the modern-day mechanics in the game. And it is prevalent in all Assassin's Creed games.
Thats suggesting that the story arc makes anything but zero sense? They jump from time period to time period, half the time going further back in history than the previous game, the story hasn't made any sense since Ezio and desmond died. Ever since they just chase one random artifact after another killing eachother along the way, the real world part of it does nothing but inform people of ♥♥♥♥ that already happend in previous games, or isnt even prevelant to the series anyway as they never make a game based on those characters.
lol I couldn't disagree more.
Throughtout the series I've always regarded the modern setting as a complete waste of time. Ubisoft tried in very silly ways to make the modern setting relevant to the story but utlimately ran out of ideas and killed off Desmond in ACIII. Black Flag, and Rogue have since had much more basic modern levels absent of even a proper protagonist lol. The modern "story" (if you can even call it that now) is clearly not popular which is why Syndicate won't feature one.
Any official source to back-up this claim of yours? Ubisoft hasn't officially stated Assassin's Creed Syndicate will not have modern-day storyline ... in fact, we still do not know much about Assassin's Creed Syndicate except for a few features.
This isn't about popularity, there just isn't any proper place for modern day office whining in an "old age" death cult game.
BTW, I love AC Rogue. Templars and order for the win!

Unless we make our voice into their ears, Ubisoft might over-look this part of fandom.
Protip for Ubisoft, most people don't care about their story, we just want to play a game with pirates.
