Should I get this or Black Flag?

Which is better? I'm pretty interested in Black Flag and heard it was one of the best AC games, but this looks good too.

get black flag it has a longer story and a larger world but while sale is on i would buy both

Black flag is the beast AC game i ever played and actually one of my all time favs. ♥♥♥♥ unity wouldnt even run and they stole thousands of peoples money so i really wouldnt suggest buying any ac game that came out after BF. Black flag is awesome tho. definitely get it

Rogue is supposed to be the shortest in the series, so I'd say get Black Flag.

I was tempted into buying Rogue by the 30% off, and it is a good game - but, from what I'm seeing, it's not anything like as long as Black Flag. If you have the money to buy both, buy both, as they're both good, but if you have to choose, get Black Flag.

Depends on what you like. Do not take the Black Flag fan boys too far. If you like being a pirate and have a longer story then go with Black Flag... However..

Rogue has a bigger map to explore, including a river map.
New york is huge, bigger then both bigger cities in BF
Rogue has 2 areas you can sail instead of just the Caribean
Rogue lets you play as a British naval privateer... you can engage in faction based conflicts both on open sea and land. (very fun to board an enemy ship with other ships fighting it out around you
You actually get hunted down for assasinations
You're ship can get boarded
You can attack civilian ships as well as civilians and gain a bounty due to it
You can -be- a templar... for those who say being a "bad guy" is being a pirate over being a privateer in a world dominating empire have a lot to learn about politics..

For me Rogue is the better game... bigger world.. more free roam options.. but I understand the want for a longer story and the want to be a pirate over a privateer under the British flag however I find being on one side fun as it feels like you are fighting in a war

I just bought Rogue (Amazon Summer sale $12) but I would definetly have bought AC IV instead if I hadn't already owned it. Rogue is a fun game, especially playing the other side.

Rogue's map was bigger to scale.. just because the story was short does not mean it has a smaller map.
Boring world? Seems like an opinion. I would rather face icebergs, blizzards and ice cold water over the tropic... but that is my preference so again.. depends on what you want.
Ya you are a priveteer in IV but you are still a pirate. In Rogue you actually work for the British Navy and are seen as part of their fleet.
I actually like getting boarded and find it not as buggy as you say.. perhaps my drivers are updated or i have a better pc than you...

Personally with open world games the story is only 50% and the world is the other.. I like the cold artic exploration.. the hunting of polar bears whilst wearing the fur coat.. the northern ocean whaling (way more moby ♥♥♥♥ then in the tropics...) The frozen waters and crazy blizards that come in.
In Rogue I felt like the MAN the Empire.. the real evil... in Black Flag I felt like a rebel fighter... a robin hood type pirate... I dunno I just like playing villians... AGAIN preference...

Just wanted to give a view point on this thread that supported Rogue... but again.. it isnt for every type of player... I was getting tired of the AC games and the assasins over zealous ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.. was good to play the villian...

Also.. I enjoyed the river map... you had the atlantic map for sea exploration... the river map gave an interesting dynamic.. sailing along the rivers and jumping off to check out certain locations and towns... New York was bigger than both the cities in IV and so It was nice that instead of a 2nd big city they gave us a half land half ocean river valley to sail around/land in... just my 2 cents..

Lol not sure what masta phunk is talking about, the map is significantly smaller, not to mention the town is actually pretty tiny..The only thing I can give rogue over IV is the gang HQ mechanic, the bounties for killing civilians in cities, and the fact that you finally get to play as a templar. (starting to actually dislike the assasians ideals at this point)

Black Flag is way better. Only reason to get Rogue is if you have an older or weaker rig that can't handle the next gen graphics of Black Flag.

If there are 3 other things that make Rogue worth getting it is the return to the beautiful American frontier from ACIII (the northern parts of the atlantic have a beautiful arctic vibe to it as well with aurora borealis and glacier islands), the ability to salvage enemy ships for money, and the interesting twist on the story letting you turn templar and links all the 18th century AC games together.

If you are actually following the story arc then you need to play black flag as black flag is a prequel to assassins creed 3, rogue takes place between black flag and AC 3 to some extent. I think because i have not yet finished rogue. And it's better than unity IMO

Go for Black Flag. While Rogue is definitely a great game, it's not nearly as long as Black Flag.

Thanks guys, I made my decision. I'm getting Black Flag for the longtivity and awesome naval combat.
