What is quite funny is that I have the game on the Ubisoft Connect Launcher and it has the correct "Steam" tag on it and upon launching it it gives me the same CD Key requirement which makes zero sense...
I contacted Ubisoft about it and now more than a week has passed without an answer...
I know this is not a solution to your post but maybe bringin it to light might get Ubisoft to do something about it.
That is really disappointing. Yea hopefully ubisoft take an action for this it has been a long time issue and it would be a waste if most people refund their product.
UPDATE: Hey guys idk if this will still be useful or make sense but anyways I tried launching the file "ACC" as an administrator and it just launched successfully without asking cd keys, and my achievements unlocked, you can locate it on local files C:>Program FIles (x86)>Steam>steamapps>common>Assassin's Creed Rogue. Hope it helps to some. :D
If anyone else continues to have trouble, The error you are describing will often show if you are not logged in to the correct Ubisoft account that is linked to your Steam account. You can check your linked accounts using the Ubisoft account website. [x.com]
If you are using the correct account or do not have one already linked then I would recommend to follow the below steps:
- Ensure you have Ubisoft Connect [ubi.li] installed and updated
- Launch Ubisoft Connect, Steam and Siege using admin rights [ubi.li] to ensure permissions are granted.
- Try to have both the game and Ubisoft Connect and Steam on the same drive
Any trouble, just let us know
