Route to Aarushi Pillar?

Ok so ive spent about 2 hours looking and cannot seem to figure out how to get to the Native Pillar at Fort Blanc ( Aarushi?). The few YouTube vids on the matter are for the solution...not the way there.

There is an area in the mine where there appears to be a pully system across a pit ( I guess you can hang from a pully and slide across??). I get no interaction when near said pully so assume its a one-way ride?

Any help?

No screenshot? Hmmm... the pulleys don't usually show an interaction prompt. You just run toward them and jump and Shay grabs them automatically.

I will try that again I think, altho I did run toward etc etc; I always ended up falling about 60 feet and taking alot of damage.

So ARE the "pullies" the key?

Small price to pay for such an amazing (IMO) xpac. I last played Black Flag and going from the balmy tropics to the icey north is a great change!

Here's a description I found. It is definitely after that pulley section. Go outside and keep climbing higher....

Aarushi Native Pillar – Aarushi is located in the Fort Blanc area of the map. This one is located in the fort which is kinda tricky to get into. Go to the view point and jump down. From there use the tree branch to jump down to a small cave entrance. After you leave the cave us the downed tree to jump into the other trees. In the first tree climb up higher and take that route towards the fort. When you are outside the fort use the other downed tree to enter the fort.

Enter the mine on the side of the fort and clear out the two enemies. From there climb up and head the direction of the Pillar. Use the hook to cross the gap and go deeper into the mine. Follow that path until you are out of the cave, DO NOT fall into the water. Once outside use the downed tree to get up higher and it is pretty much a straight path to the pillar. When I finally made it I couldn’t access the Pillar, it might be bugged.

I was able to return to that spot just fine. Just keep going through that next cave area and go across. DON'T fall down into the water but stay up on the pillars until you go straight across and outside, then follow the path around and UP to an area where you can jump across some trees. Keep going across and up and to the right. You should eventually see the area..

Let me know if you still can't find it and I'll try to post some screenshots or a video, maybe..

It will take a little while to upload, but this is the link to the video I put up just now on YouTube that shows you where to go, after you cross that gap with the pulley system. Sadly, there's no way back —it's a one-way trip— or I would have recorded the whole thing.

Once you cross that gap, stay HIGH in the next room and don't fall down to the water. Stay on those crosspieces/beams until you get across the next area. You can see the part I'm talking about in the first few seconds, where I'm looking back to where I came into this cave..

To answer your question, YES. They are used by running at them and just as I get to the edge, I press the jump button and Shay sails out and grabs onto the pulley automatically. It's like all the other jumps, just run straight at them and the game does the rest.

Just wanted to say thanks for the explaination, only the hook on the other side was glowing so I thought I didn't unlock some ability at first.
