49/50 Unlocks Katana

I need the Katana for my last achivment, is there something I can do to get merchants to spawn, I have everything else, is it a specific level that I should be searching? Is it new game + merchant maybe? I can't find anything anywhere about how to get a merchant to spawn and I don't want to reset my progress because im at 49/50.

Yo just in case anyone stumbles upon this, What I ended up doing was resetting my progress at the monk of time and sloooowly going back thorugh every level, never buying the teleporter or beating the game until I had bought from every single merchant, I unlocked the Katana.

It does seem like a bug to be honest. I've been at 45/50 since forever, and no merchants ever appear anywhere. It doesn't make any sense, merchants don't exist any more in the game. So no dwarf turrets for me, pretty much equals to trying the impossible.

EDIT: Apparently the remaining merchants only appeared on floor 10 the last one before the boss, and not in all runs either. So very rare. I managed to get to 50/50 by simply replaying the last level via teleport shrine over and over. Reached 50/50 but I have no idea why I still miss the Dwarf Turrets ability which is destined to make my life for the final achievements a nightmare. Wtf game???
