To clarify, each scan uses 1 bar of battery, and you have 10 bars total. On Normal difficulty, you only need to scan 13 anomalies to win, meaning you’d only need to pick up batteries once. However, each loop contains a pair of batteries, so keep an eye out, and you should have enough for at least 10 scans per loop.
Missing anomalies and resetting your counter is part of learning the game mechanics and becoming familiar with the environment. As for the total counter, it’s not part of the gameplay. It’s a stat you can view in the main menu to track how much of the game you’ve explored across all three difficulties. It updates each time you exit back to the main menu.
I hope this helps you improve your battery management and progress to the harder difficulties. Good luck!
