Music by Harry Gregson-Williams

Since i love soundtracks, the awesome MGS music is getting my attention. And so i would like to talk about the music with you guys :)

The soundtrack for Metal Gear Solid (1998) was mostly composed by Konami Computer Entertainment Sound Team Japan (comprising Takanari Ishiyama, Gigi Meroni, Kazuki Muraoka, Lee Jeon Myung and Hiroyuki Togo), with the exception of the "Metal Gear Solid Main Theme", composed by Tappi Iwase, and "The Best Is Yet to Come", composed by Rika Muranaka and performed by Aoife Ní Fhearraigh (source: wikipedia). Since MGS2, the music for the series is being composed by Harry Gregson-Williams, which is famous movie composer. So far he did awesome job. In MGS2 he still used the original main theme from MGS1, but he made it more orchestral and epic. In MGS3, he composed his own main theme and he used it in MGS4 as well. In MGS4, he experienced with this theme more. Made the guitar chill version for example. It is perfectly used in the final fight with Liquid Ocelot. On soundtrack it's called Metal Gear Saga. I heard so many awesome tracks in MGS4. I got the 2 disks version of the soundtrack. Ground Zeroes is also composed by Harry Gregson-Williams and The Phantom Pain will be too. I already found my favorite tracks in GZ. One when snake is climbing the rock in the cut scene when he's arriving to the camp. Well, this music is heard a lot in the game. You can hear it i think on the start of every side mission, if i'm not mistaken. Well, and the second which i really like is the short emotional piano music when you find Paz. It's playing back in my head all the time. Wish this music had some longer version on the soundtrack. And of course all the music during the gameplay, like when guards are looking for you or are on alert etc... it's the best it ever was in any previous MGS. It's very atmospheric and epic. Or when the chopper is arriving to the landing point when you called for it. Well, i don't think the soundtrack is out yet. I believe Harry will release the soundtrack for Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain at once. Guess we'll have to wait.

Kojima Productions is spot on with just about every sound/audio cue i can hear in GZ, listening to the phantom pain video gameplays i have seen recentley i also think that every sound/audio cue is so good, i'm sort of zoned out with quiets singing voice when she spots the enemy, also mounting the horse and then hearing the drum roll, is it just me that likes this?.

I really, REALLY love the Ground Zeroes soundtrack. Especially the alert themes and extracting Paz.
Metal Gear Solid 2 had the best soundtrack for me from all the games. Especially the tracks Norihiko Hibino composed. I didn't pay much attention to Harry Gregson-Williams at the time.
I just find the jazzy lounge ambient music with D&B infused to be better than the movie like music Gregson did.

Also, a shout out for Ludvig Forssell and Akihiro Honda and of course the lovely sounding Donna Burke.

Also on a side note, apparently we will find various KojiPro staff members hidden throughout the phantom pain game.

Yea, forgot to mention that Ludvig Forssell is co-composing MGS5 with Harry.

And i would also like to mention Lisbeth Scott that sings HERE'S TO YOU in MGS4. I really like her voice. She did vocal for The Passion of the Christ movie for example.

I believe it is the "Ride of the Valkyries" by Richard Wagner.

I am using controller with vibration, but i didn't notice anything. It vibrates when he's checking her?
Well, the part of the piano music when he's checking her neck is playing in my head all the time. It's so short, but really awesome melody :) It makes the scene so emotional as he's checking her neck and she's breathing and camera gets close to her and this music plays.

The classical guitar from the love theme is soothing to the ear, it's such a shame that they never allowed custom sound tracks to use from your hard drive :(
