Monitor Eventually Going to Sleep When Using Controller
Anyone else having their monitor go to sleep when using a controller as if you are afk? Might just be controllers like Logitech even... I am playing fullscreen too and it usually takes about 15-20 minutes before it goes to sleep requiring mouse movement to wake monitor. Only occured for Ground Zeros as I have never seen this occur doing anything else or any other game to date.

Would definitely like a fix for this and I certainly don't want to deal with this in PP.

This is a power save feature that you need to disable within Windows. All you need to do is go into your start menu, go into control panel, click on the icon called "Power Options", click on the left where it says "Choose when to turn off the display" and just set it them to "Never." If it's the computer going into sleep mode, there's the option for that on the left, as well.

I did, however, find out that, for me, it wasn't the monitor going into sleep mode, but a blank screen saver that's enabled. You could also make sure that's disabled, as well.

I'm not disabling my power save feature for my monitor when this is the only game/acivity that causes this. I have screen saver disabled though so didn't know about that detail. I like my monitors auto-sleep power saving feature. Hopefully Konami will fix this in the near future.

Nice to know it isn't how it treats my logitech that causes this little quirk in their game. Means the issue has increased odds of being fixed, hopefully.

Go into device manager, your controller is under HID, or one of the other lines, and look for your controller. Set its properties by right clicking. On it's last tab there's checkmark Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. remove the checkmark. Repeat until all your controllers settings are set this way.

Mine does not have the checkmark in the last tab or any of the tabs under the device. Maybe it is due to me using Win7 or High Performance power settings. None of my input devices have such an option. I don't recall if I ever resolved this issue as I haven't played in quite some time.

One of them controllers must have an option like that. Even your network card and mouse have such an option. Plus they also. have option to wake up computer

And what if you forget the setting? You go out of home, you dont turn off the pc but monitor stays on? Not a good solution.

My network card has related options to power management but not the one you specify. Checking other locations in device manager shows my mouse/keyboard listed under two other areas in addition to HID but the option to disable/turn them off to save power is disabled either due to "High Performance" power setting or Razer Software. My controller has no such option at all, tho, under Device Manager and is using no 3rd party software atm.

Check in Advanced power settings that your USB connections are not using power save option

I do have it for USB devices there, USB Selective Suspend Settings enabled/disabled. Not going to bother testing it right now since I am not playing this game nor is it installed and I don't recall this issue occuring with Phantom Pain but will keep in mind in future if similar issue occurs. Sadly, this is unlikely to be the resolution as this being the issue would mean my controller/USB device would be sending no information when suspended which is not the case (I am still able to input commands as seen by changes to the game when I can see again as well as audio cues) it just will not wake up monitor requiring mouse movement. The same issue does not occur in Phantom Pain or any other game if memory serves me correctly leading me to believe it is an exclusive engine bug in Ground Zeroes.

Sorry I'm just chucking things at you have you tried to Verifiy integrity of game cach this replaces missing or corrupt files as it seems game specific.

Definitely tried that and a clean installation back then, neither resolved the issue. It seems multiple people had this issue but no replies to those threads back then. Not going to try now tho since I already cleared it for the most part and don't have the issue in Phantom Pain.

You're still having this problem nearly 2 years later?
