Yes I'm also curious why this feature was dropped. Considering the fact that it's on PC, importing music should be easier since I already have the files here, unlike consoles where it's very unlikely I'd have music on there.
I really wanted to sneak to some MGS3 tunes...
It doesn't seem like a big deal on PC, just remove the whole importing process and make it read the music from a folder. I don't mind if I have to use 3rd party tools to convert it into the right format either.
Again I apologize if this has disappointed some looking forward to using the feature on PC.
Could it be patched in? If it was due to schedule issues, which to me indicates time constraints, can't it be patched in, like the PS4 version was? And if not, will Phantom Pain have it?
The reason is above your post. It was dropped to meet the deadline, because it's not a very dominant feature. Maybe it'll get patched back in if the port is a financial success? But something tells me they are going to be preoccupied porting TPP and can't really patch it.
What are you talking about? Custom music is only available for the PS3 and 360 ports. There was never any patch for the PS4 version to add it because PS4 has no mp3 support.
The PS4 apparently recently got MP3 support, but I admit, I don't know if ground zeroes got the music import feature patched in. I was going by what Kacho said.
PS4 sort of has MP3 support. You can play MP3 files, but only from a USB stick. You can't copy anything over to the system.
That, and the last patch GZ got on PS4 was for some russian subtitles or something. There is no custom music for it.
Got it. Thanks for the clarification.
