Were you playing with a keyboard or a console controller? In any case, the game relies heavily on automatic context-sensitive animations for things like sticking to walls and that can sometimes create gameplay issues and player frustration. In the PS4 version there are also moments when the game "forgets" about active objects that just end up disappearing and re-appearing randomly(I've yet to experience that in this version though). Also, in case you don't know, the sprint action, once triggered, can only be stopped by completely releasing the movement keys. That's important to achieve a quick dive and crawl.
1) Hold %MOVEMENT_KEY% then SHIFT
2) Run a bit and hit SPACEBAR.
3) While Snake is falling quickly release and withhold again the %MOVEMENT_KEY%.
Probably you knew that already, but a bad execution of the technique blew my cover during my first playthrough back in March. I did the dive and crawl thing and then Snake quickly stood to continue to sprint again.
- Tranquilized npcs constantly relocate, appear and dissapear as you move about the area and/or look away from them. (Weeping angel effect)
- Tranquilizer shots fired at close range just go right trough npc's heads ocasionally doing absolutely nothing and hitting walls behind them instead even though you can see its trail indicates it should have been a hit.
- Sudden random instant alert at 75m+ "while sneaking".
- Mission related npcs (especially on Retrieve Intel) the bald guy and the agent... always reappear on other parts of the map or dissapear entirely after reload of a checkpoint, even if you have tranquilized them and reached a checkpoint autosave afterwards. This particular mission gave me a lot of stress especially, when trying to speedrun an S rank while having every key person including prisoners extracted +2 casettes.
There is more, but end argument is basically... boy oh boy does this game have bugs/problems.
Same here bud, Ive tried to take off the xbox ctrl, but the sticky movement bug still gets me on my keyboard. Ive been doing well recovering from the sticky movement bug by switching directions, as every time I get stuck I am always moving forwards and to the left. I usually hold forward then quickly switch directions to hold the backwards movement key, and it usually gets me out of said bug. have had much success as of this week in breaking free from the bug.
