PC Controls Needs Work
After getting familiar with this game on both controller and Keyboard+Mouse, I wanted to express some issues I have found. It seems like their PC controls definitely needs to be worked on. I'm sure some of these have been mentioned here before.

Switching items/weapons is inelegant and not as fast as using controllers for the radial menu. You can say it's nitpicky, but for doing speed runs and trials, it takes about a second longer to naviage to a specific weapon/item not currently in your default slots. You can press and hold your weapon slot button to change the next in line, but it seems delayed and HUD icon doesn't refresh that fast so it's hard to tell if you switched, so you press it again and it cycles back causing frustration.

Also it seems certain hotkeys that shouldn't conflict with each other do. For instance if I have Binoc (Toggle Zoom) and First Person View Toggle binded to the same key. You would think this shouldn't be an issue because those to command should never conflict. Unfortunately I learned the hard way that if these two are set to the same key, zooming in first person with scopes straight up doesn't work. So now I have to sacrifice my streamlined hotkeys to have 2 seperate keys for two seperate actions that never conflict, why?

Obviously we need Mouse3/4/5 to be bindable, been having to use AutoHotKey as a workaround for the time being.

SCOPE ZOOM SENSITIVITY, please give us an option to customize it or atleast make it scale. This literally was the reason it took me like 20 tries to S rank Elimiate Renegade Threat.

The minimap can drive me crazy sometimes, I can move the cursor on the map around fine on a controller. On a mouse however, it just wants to keep snapping onto targets on the map and is really annoying to control. Another thing with the iDroid, why no pointer for the rest of the options in the menu?

This is not meant to be a critical review of the game or anything, I just would like to see these issues addressed in the final product (TPP).

Another issue I'd like to mention is how we select interrogation options when holding up enemies. The 1, 2, 3 thing is unnecessarily confusing. You should either add numbers to each of the interrogation options, or let players select the option via the mouse or keyboard.

I agree with most of OP, especially when it comes to the Scope/Binocular Sensitivity thing. I have managed to somewhat alleviate it by having a "snipe button" on my mouse, but many people don't have that option.

I respect every gamer's desicion to play a game with the comtols they want but do keep in mind this game is designed around a Gamepad, and the developer really doens't have experience with K&M mechanical designs. So even if they tried it probably won't be very good.

I feel like the store page should have a disclaimer for this, the same way Dark Souls 2 does

I have only problem with scope over-sensitivity.

Well this sucks, i play with an invert mouse, and numpad area. Even with less features to handle in the demo, i have much difficulty in adapting to their control, the full game is gonna be a Phantom Pain in the a$$ with all those new features. I hope they fix this.

If you tap the corresponding slot number multiple times, you will cycle through that slots weapons/items. The first brings it up, subsequent taps cycle. So if you have a hip and back weapon, tap 1 twice and you will switch to the other. To me, this actually ends up being faster than the weapon/item list of all the other MGS games, excluding time stopping, since you have access to 3 different weapons instantly, and can cycle through the rest in a few taps

lol. Yuuuuuup. Pretty old thread here, but I will say they should've added a visible mouse cursor when you bring up your weapon menu. You have to point it in the general direction, and can be inaccurate when trying to do in really fast in combat.

BRUTAL Mouse and Keyboard key mapping, How unintuitive to have to hold a number 8 key AND R to pick up some grenades, These guys need to play Crysis to learn a great setup.
Glad I only tried Ground Zeroes instead of the Phantom Pain for $60 ....not a chance now that I know what a mess this is.

ok - O/P scaleabliity of zooming (appologies for speeling, it's late)

If you're playing on a controller, pressing up and down on the d-oad will scale the zoom in and out for you, with r3 (click right stick) for absolute values).

With thta in mind, perhaps there is a scaled zoom on the mouse. Can't say for sure because of one thing - it's a Metal Gear game and they, in my opinion and experience, should be played with a controller.

With a controller the game plays pretty well. Not as well as the controls for TPP which are slightly more refined, but still better with a joypad. All hours on my profile fo this game and TPP are with a controller and after 106 hours, 28% of TPP, I have deleted all saves and started again. Clearing all the missions to maximise the transfer of personel into my TPP game.

the difference between this game and that ♥♥♥♥♥♥ port dark souls is this game is very much enjoyable with keyboard and mouse and dark souls is just an all around ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game that the developers didn't care about porting to pc and we pc gamers who were stupid enough to buy it had to go get a controller just to make it playable. the controller for dark souls did not help the controls of the game very much at all. this game works fine with keyboard and mouse and the controls respond nicely. :Rubber_Duck:
