tranq darts duration/disappearing guards
When I tranq or KO a guard, how long will they stay knocked out?

Mostly I tranq, so lets talk about that.

It does not seem to matter, 1 headshot KO, or 3 to the back, sometimes guards stay out the whole mission, and sometimes they wake up after seconds. This is with NO alerts or other guards waking them up.

If I KO more than..........say 5 guards, they disappear. Not permanently...usually.

After walking away and back they will be there.


Anyone else have that?

I think it depends on the mission. I find in the glaz and palitz they wake up but in other missions, they don't.? I only play tthree side missions. I put ten hours into that lol.

weird. I read somewhere that darts, and choke and KO have different durations, but usually I one-shot the guards, and the duration seems random.

Same goes for choke outs. I rarely CQC knock out, so I don't know about the knock out time. I DO know a certain move KOs for longer........

I get the "invisible/disappearing guards" at Destroy the AA mission A LOT!

Tranquilization darts will put any target to SLEEP for 2 minutes and 30 seconds. Shooting them with another tranquilizer in the head when they're already ASLEEP will reset the timer. Shots to the body add to the timer an unknown quantity I haven't tested myself yet. Some people say shots to the body will add 40 seconds and subsquent shots may reset the timer just like the headshot.

Tranquilization darts will put a target to sleep instantly if they hit the target in the head. They'll take 30 seconds to put someone to sleep if they hit any other part of the body. Shooting two tranqs to the body will reduce the effect time to 10 seconds, three tranqs will reduce it further to 2 seconds and 4 tranqs put the target out could immediately, just like a headshot.

Strangulation a target will KNOCK the target out for 4 minutes. Throwing them on the floor will KNOCK them out for 50 seconds. Throwing them onto walls and obstacles will KNOCK them out for 4 minutes, just like a strangulation. Kicking them when they're down and awake will also KNOCK them down for 4 minutes.

Hitting an enemy with a complete combo (the frontal 5 hit combo or the 3 hit combo from the back) will KNOCK the enemy out for longer than 10 minutes... I didn't get the chance to try this out past this mark, other sources who have tried it themselves have said it knocks them out for 15 minutes and other sources say it knocks them out for 30 minutes. Whichever is the actual case, it's the longest and most effective form of non-lethal neutralization other than throwing enemies off the map.

I haven't tested the Uragan pistol myself, but sources say it KNOCKS people out for 1 minute and 40 seconds at ranges equal or smaller than maybe 30 meters and some 45 seconds if the target is hit from farther than 40 meters. The duration varies between those two absolute ranges. Like I said, this data is hearsay. I haven't actually tested it myself.

I am playing on "hard"

The "take out the 3 AA" mission, darts seem to last VERY long, longer than 3 mins...........most times, regardless of dart placement.

In mission "Ground Zeroes" MOST darts last 2 mins 30( I think. not timed it. )
EXCEPT WHEN THEY DON"T!!!

Is this a bug, or a 'feature'?
(Men react differently to the drug based on size, weight, time-of-the-month?)


ALSO: In "Ground Zeroes" the sound of the thunder seems to wake some guards.
