METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES

METAL GEAR SOLID V: GROUND ZEROES

Compared to MGS4, The CQC In this is so dull.
MGS4 Felt way more creative and the options you had, the crotch grab etc etc, and generally the feel of CQC Was way better executed, CQC Is like a quick takedown joke now.

EDIT: As Fission Mailed stated, that's kind've the point I'm trying to come at here. the CQC simply doesn't have enough options and it feel's so linear controlled now.

Agree. But they'll probably add more options in TPP.

*COUGH* Same gameplay mechanics and fluidity as ground zeroe *COUGH* same gameplay *COUGH*
CQC is way more realistic now and it depends on the environment and enemy type, footing, etc. Rather than manual action. It's fluid, fast and streamlined.

Yes, it's more fluid now and more realistic, but it basicaly comes down to pushing one button (like most of the newer games). MGS4 had a lot of variety of CQC's which kinda reminded me of fatalitys in Mortal Kombat :)
I hope they will expand this in TPP.

I'm not sure what anyone is talking about. MGSV's CQC has the same options as MGS4.

OK, so the missing items are, sort of Disarm (this currently happens automatically), make the enemy lie down when they're prone and awake on their back (before they get up), and ground choke. A non-CQC move that's missing is the stealth-crawl.

I wonder if the ground choke and the stealth crawl were excluded because they didn't fit into military training of the period? That may not be it, and they may make an appearance in TPP.

No dude... they removed it because it was a queer move on the sentries. A lot ppl complained that ground choke made them feel way too f***ing gay. As for the stealth crawl it was too slow and unnecesary.

Keep in mind - MGS:GZ and TPP is staring Big Boss. Naked Snake.

MGS4 is staring Solid Snake.

Lore wise, it could be their training and techniques are different.

It could be possible that Solid Snake was adding on to Big Boss's CQC, but I believe he explicitly mentions in a call to Otacon that he was taught CQC by B.B while he was with FOXHOUND, and the techniques he uses in MGS4 are all based on, if not just, B.B's CQC.

To the topic, I think that TPP will expand on the CQC a bit. The gameplay is mostly going to be the same, but certain things are going to be different or expanded upon.
The Red Band gameplay trailer even shows a disarm move that does not exist in Ground Zeroes. So we can be 100% sure that at least SOME aspects of CQC are only going to be in TPP.

it could be... because all of us are simply speculating stuff based on what we know from MGS4 and other games of the series and whatever else info we have on the matter.

People, it's simple... the developers add and remove whatever cool or BS move they think will work best for the game at the time and then, justify it with lore if they feel like it.
