Does ground zero affect phantom pain?

Since steam registers the two as seperate games will the results of ground zero affect your new game in phantom pain?

You mean affect. Yes, the story is connected. Ground Zeroes is the prologue to the main game The Phantom Pain.

I have yet to do this but there is a option that lets you upload your save data and any prisonors or unique NPC's you rescue will be used as staff for motherbas and theres a few other bonus's like the MSF sneaking suit and maybe a trip back to camp omega in TPP.

you have to upload the save data from GZ and download the save data in TPP

Its the first time I'm hearing about this , but I dont think there would add a lot to the Gameplay, however it could be interesting once Phantom Pain is played.
