Spotty Texture quality on hair and foliage
It mostly relates to anything that is relatively flat/and or transparent when you walk pass it. Its appears like a pixelated mask over foliage and hair. Whats worse is it "flutters" slightly making it even more noticable in motion. What the hell is this thing? Got max settings on everything, turned off Screen filtering. Help. Its makes my eyes bleed

that's called dithering, it's an optimization feature. it's more apparent once you turn off screen filtering. with screen filtering, it's actually more transparent.

Am I the only one experiencing this?

Is there a way to reduce the dithering while still getting rid of that horrible depth of field effect from screen filtering?

no. screen filtering includes a bunch of options into one. robery peelers was bombarded with suggestions to separate the effects, but no confirmation if they did for tpp

You can disable DOF with mods, there should be one that tones down and improves graphics a little bit in nexusmods[www.nexusmods.com] and a completely different site[www.dsogaming.com]

Look at the bush right next to snake's head in full sized picture, the same texturing happens on hair as well, although much less noticeable.

oh ok now I see it, now that you mention it that happens to me too. I just assumed it was it despawning as I got closer so it doesn't block my view :)

That's pretty much how all the bushes look on PS3. Not that this adds much to the convo, but yeah. Had the game on console first. It's pretty if you don't focus your eyes.

Yeah it's an optimization feature that is supposed to help with shadows and texturing to look nicer while being a little easier for rendering.

It's hit or miss. I don't like how it looks either, but I don't mind it enough to be worried about it.

i guess ill just stick to modding it until look half-decent. I really hope MGSV doesn't have the same issues. thanks for the input
the dithering doesn't bother me so much, but the horrible shadow quality on things out of focus with ssao on bugs me to no end.

And rocks. Don't forget rocks. And cliff faces. Don't forget those.

They used this dithering on GTA V too but they interpolate it afterwards so you don't see it at all. I wonder why they didn't do that with TPP? The PS3 version you really notice it! They use it in Ark too.
