Can everything somehow
They have a good variety of units but they are not spiking as hard as other races.
Great to learn the basics.
Have a very balanced eco (Stonecutter cost wood, woodcutter stone, most buildings rather cheap).
They are also really good if you want to play more safe because of their rather cheap outposts.
Both heroes support the army and lead them into battle.
Recommended for beginners.
Elves:
The skilled fighters.
They have a very fragile early game.
Their buildings cost a ton of wood.
But in later stages of the game they are the most deadly enemies you can face.
Both heroes have more of a supportive role. One with more early pressure the other one with a lot of variety to choose from.
(i mean you can play them. It can be sometimes frustrating if you don´t figure them out.)
Orcs:
You have eco, you want to expand, you want to attack.
Defense no good just overrun your opponent with Goblins, Orcs and some other creatures.
Very offensive focused race.
Has a uniquie mechanic with outposts (big plus und big minus at the same time).
One hero is basically an immortal fighter. The other one is a Goblin Shaman.
They may look very complex at the begining but that´s not the case. A few games and you have them going.
Dwarves:
They are listed as defensive (which is kinda true). This is a beefy and gimmicky race.
You have units with a good amount of HP, stances and different effects. You have small gimmick things like dropships.
High stone cost but they have strong eco to back that up.
One hero is the ranged black plague. The other one is beefy melee fighter.
Also kinda good for beginners.
Darkelves:
The specialists.
This race is hard to play. It´s tricky to figure out how it works. And you need to have to understand a bit the mechanics of the game.
Their units are some Darkelves and many nasty creatures.
Also you shouldn´t underestimate them. Probably as dangerous as the Elves. If not even stronger with their late game units.
One hero is a great fighter that can tank a lot, support the army and deal good damage. The other one is more supportive nature but has some good tricks up his sleeves.
Not recommended for beginners. But you can play what you want anyway.
Trolls:
See enemy --> go crush them --> win.
Less but very strong units on the field.
Unique unit upgrade system (Troll with big club turns into better Troll with better club turns into bigger Troll with good club)
They cost a ton of ressources but have the eco to back that up.
Also beginner friendly.
Have their own mechanic which might need some time to get used to. But overall very beefy race.
I hope i could kinda explain what the races are.
