So I've picked up the quest imprisoned to help them escape but I need to equip weapons. Which I haven't been able to find. Any idea where those might be? Or were to look?

Right up the stairs from the prisoners is a weapon rack you can click on. I don't think it glows but when you walk near it the first time your character comments on getting weapons for them.

You get the key from a prison guard to the west of the main staircase to the prison cells in Amaria Leonidar's prison camp. The guard says he wants to defect from Amaria's camp, and when you let him leave, he offers you the key.
