How to group troops

How can I group my troops and have multiple groups at a press of a button like in the good old Spellforce 1 and 2?

Select the targeted units press Ctrl+1(1-9)to apply the units to the number.press the number it will select all the units you have groupt

It works! But for me, just with the right and not the left CTRL button.
