What you are writing there sounds like mages would to more damage if you equip them with bows.. even if you equip them with the lowest tier of bows.. which is kinda strange.
Im using heaviest titan armor plate with con 10 and epic 2h sword (merchant) that ignores armor on 30% chance
special attack just rotation attack, focus value 20 xd , rest all in dps of melee
elve pure healer, no bow nthg
rohan pure elemental mage
dwarf tank and support with earth damage and speed buff
no need of any aura so far. i spent ability points in health values and focus refresh rates instead, so i can split up my group in case.
this group kills everythg SO FAR , except dragon in cave ,east of this city where refugees went
but i didnt have rohan there yet as fourth..
all i do in combat is heal and buff with elve my agressive 2 melee and set AOE either fire or ice rain from rohan, depending on enemy resistance.
i dont fiddle around with single target spells
gray fox says it all, just one tree but totally this tree and the char rocks IMHO
INT and WIL on max, rest 1
or strength and con on max, dex minimum for weapons, rest 1
ok i didnt progress much in campaign but so far its workin great
because the AI focuses on the undead xD and my hero just sit back and throws area spells
basically killing whole armies even when there are 2 heroes from the enemy faction(yawn)
- Discipline + Elementalism (Strength based weapons + auras)
- Brutality + Elementalism (Strength based weapons + auras) or
- Brutality + Archery (Dexterity based weapons + ability based) for 2H, dual wield and archery
> alternatively you can add White Magic as the 3rd class choice for the above combinations
- Elementalism + White Magic (Int or Will based weapons) for healers and offensive casters

Does anyone now know what specializations the melee trees get? Or bow?
Idea: 2hander (str) or 1h+shield )(with the neccessary trees) + black magic
2 leadership Auras + the black specialization passive bonus (weakness on hit for enemy + regen if I remember) + lifeleech.
This could possibly be fun and has the option to just skip willpower alltogether, going 10str/10kon rest dex. But still I cannot decide without knowing what brutality and shieldthing trees get as specialization.
I went for dark magic/ discipline as pestilence applies weakness and ties into surprise attack etc.
Bumping this up. So far I`ve only found one of these potions. Is there a mercant that sells these? Or is there a guide with quest, that give attribute potions as reward?
