The Forsaken Coast Side Quest Optional Objective "UNCOVER THE FATE OF THE SHIPMENT"

Has anyone done the the OPTIONAL objective that says "Uncover the fate of the shipment" I found the ship itself which is another optional objective, but I can't find the shipment itself (Or anything thing that helps me find the fate of it.) I HAVE COMPLETED THE QUEST MULTIPLE TIMES BUT IM TRYING TO COMPLETE THE OPTIONAL, I REPEAT, OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE OF THE SIDE QUEST

I had the same problem, a fix for this was to take the character Ianna with me on the mission. she has unique dialog that seems to fix the optional quest problem.

I think I brought Ianna with me, but that was a long time ago and was probably put in a patch after I already completed the area. Either way, it doesn't matter anymore since I'm in act 2 of the game. Thank you for your answer though!

How it worked for me (finally!):
eliminate looters (including ones on the beach), take the diary from the lighthouse and then go to the southcamp where from you get the oil. After discussing with the friendly looters in the camp, there are some automatic dialogues between you and your heroes that trigger this optional quest to be completed.

you got to read the dairy from the light house then you should be good with getting both the Optional quest done

SOLUTION.... gosh so much reading and yet did not find the answer, when you talk to the people in the camp you will find out what happened to the shipment. It seems however this is bugged and the optional mission is not achieved event after that. Here however you can see it being achieved

Yes I know all that. but im trying to complete the OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE of the side quest. I already finished the quest multiple times, each time the optional objective "Discover the fate of the shipment" would be CROSSED OUT RED whenever I get the medicine from the medusas. The other optional objective was to "find the ship" which was CROSSED OUT GREEN so obviously I did that one correctly. I'm trying to figure out how to finish the other objective.

You have to go step by step...
1. Go for Book and lighthous
2. Go talk with looters in camp

And after that it should work.
