The Forsaken Coast Side Quest Optional Objective "UNCOVER THE FATE OF THE SHIPMENT"

PLEASE READDDDDDDDDD

Has anyone done the the OPTIONAL objective that says "Uncover the fate of the shipment" I found the ship itself which is another optional objective, but I can't find the shipment itself (Or anything thing that helps me find the fate of it.) I HAVE COMPLETED THE QUEST MULTIPLE TIMES BUT IM TRYING TO COMPLETE THE OPTIONAL, I REPEAT, OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE OF THE SIDE QUEST

Near the lighthouse there is a small book on the ground(not highlighted) pick it up, it's the jorunal of the person that takes care of it, the quest will proceed.

I did as you said and it didn't cross out the optional objective that says "Uncover the fate of the shipment" it just gave me another standard objective (doesn't say optional)

Did your party discuss the monster? If so, go to the camp, pick up oil for the lighthouse, light it up and done.

Yes I know all that. but im trying to complete the OPTIONAL OBJECTIVE of the side quest. I already finished the quest multiple times, each time the optional objective "Discover the fate of the shipment" would be CROSSED OUT RED whenever I get the medicine from the medusas. The other optional objective was to "find the ship" which was CROSSED OUT GREEN so obviously I did that one correctly. I'm trying to figure out how to finish the other objective.

where is the oil? i can`t find it

The camp oil is in a base that is being looted by brigands further to the west. It is in either a sack or a chest if I remember.

I was wondering if reading the journal crosses that objective, I honestly didn't try, did you by chance read the journal before continuing to look for the oil? Also this journal is in the quest tab and not the documents one.

I think the thing is on Nagas which come when you go on top of the lighthouse. But I'm not sure because the guy died before I went there so dunno if it progresses the quest

Bump* because I have the same problem as the OP, and none of the "answers" given so far is correct (which isn't surprising, because apparently none of the people who gave them can read).

If anybody fulfilled this optional objective and remembers how they did it, it would be great if you shared the info here.
I will keep searching and updating this topic should I come up with a solution.

this objective was bugged for me few patches ago and i could not complete it whatever i did but by doing what was said earlier in this thread in latest patches i was able to finish it

and i did pick up the journal before i even triggered the objective with getting the oil and read it
not sure if that had any effect on it

I jsut finished the quest for the second time. So, when you take the quest, you must go to the zone immediately, pick up the diary(read it, click on it in your inventory), try to light the lighthouse, go to the military fort(camp) pick up the barrel of oil, go back, light the lighthouse, kill all the nagas, take the potions, go back to the commander = profit!

I guess people's are too narcissistic to read the entire thing since they're obviously too important to do it.

seems to be related to eliminating the looters and the sailors as the potential people to have the meds
