I got stood up at the altar -_-
I had just started a playthrough on the new Hansa map.
Once I had opened my first business and had prepared a couple of bouquets and washed myself, I set about a'wooing. The romance was nice and quick, and a marriage in a church was arranged...
I waited a whole day as the church filled up with what must have been every single person in the local area, but...
my intended bride never appeared!
Doh!
The shame was just too much to bear. I had wonderful dreams of a glorious life and now I was the laughing stock of the community. Monastic life wasn't for me and so I tied a boulder to my neck and followed it into the River Elbe.
In other words, I started a new game ;)

I found that if you get engaged first, then go right to the church wedding, the characters (both of them) run straight for the church. If you had to run there manually, then you probably didn't select the marriage option from the action list. There is a dialog that comes with it so you have to ask your partner if she will accept a marriage in the church. Failure to complete the dialog before it expires may be an issue as well. A new feature of dialogs is that you can advance them manually, even at slow-mo speed so you don't have to wait if you read fast. So I recommend using slow-mo for the dialogs to make sure you never run out of time and just advance when you're ready. Once my characters started running for the church, I selected the slowest and hit F to follow them with the camera to make sure they made it. This may help you to see if they get stopped by a palm reader or combat.

Thanks, but I am very familiar with the wedding sequence and you are mistaken:
I proposed a church wedding and she accepted. ie. she responded with the usual "Well, finally... yadda yadda..."
At which point, only the proposer runs automatically to the church and inside to meet the clergyman. No manual direction was used or required.
Once you provide the clergyman with the request for a church wedding and pay the 100 coins for it, the marriage ceremony begins, and it is at that point that the bride will automatically travel to join the groom at the altar and not beforehand.
This did not occur in the above situation and hence my reason for posting.

Now, the bride might have possibly been delayed by somebody accosting her for something or other, but even then, normally she would have continued to travel to the church afterwards. If such an event caused her an undue delay in the 'wedding timer', then that is still a bug that needs attention.
Naturally, I as the groom would be unaware of any of that, had it occurred, as I was at the altar within the church and I'm not in the habit of switching the camera viewpoint to track the bride while waiting.
Just so you know, I have attended many wedding over the last 150 hours of playthroughs and this is the only time something like this has occurred.
Thanks for your opinion, but it isn't applicable in this case ;)

Incidentally, once the marriage ceremony is completed, I order the creation of a child and it is only at this point that both parties travel simultaneously with regards to any game given order to one dynasty member ;)
