default is 2 if i recall.
If you don't insist on getting rare achievements like 1400, and 2000, just do 1 year per turn.

To be more precise it's the number of ingame years that pass per turn.
In the game every day a new season passes, we start in spring, at midnight the game saves ans switches to summer and so on and so forth.
However the time ingame only knows years not months so for each season change a number of years will pass and at the start of the game we set this up. By default 2 years pass for each day/season but you can set it up as you wish from 1 to 4. The more years pass from one day to the other the faster the game.

Very well explained 🙂 Does this also affect the income?

Well not directly but in a lifetime sure.
A silly example : you have a business that makes 1k gold per day it'll do that no matter if the day lasts 1 or 4 years. However if the day lasts 4 years each of your characters will live say 15 days (supposing they die at 60 yo) and will earn 15k gold in his lifetime and so he can evolve only as much as that money goes. If the day had lasted 1 year then each character lives for 60 days and has 60k gold to play with.
Of course this example is just to make point ingame you'll get more than one business, they'll not make the same amount each day, every character lives to a different age and could be killed by an attack or illness and after the initial character you'll never have only 1 but many people in your dynasty so the money is used for a lot more stuff but they also all contribute.
