Does anyone know how to use multiple warehouses?
When using a single warehouse, everything works as intended without any issues. However, when there are two or more warehouses, problems arise. There are quite a few issues, but I’ll focus on the one that I’m currently curious about.

For testing purposes, I built two barns near a quarry. In both barns, I unchecked all items except granite, setting granite to a minimum of 120 and no maximum limit. However, the transporters are not moving at all. I’ve confirmed that other businesses requiring granite are sourcing it from different locations using their own transporters.

I created a manual trade route for one of the barns to purchase granite, and it worked. Businesses requiring granite would come to this barn to collect it. However, the other barn right next to it remains completely inactive, even though granite is being supplied to the barn nearby. (I did not set a manual trade route for this second barn.) I expected the second barn to collect granite from the nearby barn, but it didn’t.

What could be the problem? Is using a single warehouse the only solution? I’ve been pondering this for a while because the game is so enjoyable, but this mechanic is quite challenging to figure out.

I do not use ware houses at all but you may get a better answer on the discord server.

I have identified the issue. By default, barns procure raw materials only when businesses within their area of influence require those materials. If no businesses within the barn’s range need the materials, the barn will never purchase them, regardless of whether the minimum stock is set to 10 or 1,000.

In my case, I built two barns near the mine as a test but did not build any businesses. Since there were no businesses within the range of the barns that needed granite, the two barns did not function. However, as soon as I built a pottery hut, the barns started working.

But that said, not all problems were resolved.

There’s an issue where the two barns endlessly procure granite from each other.
Another issue is that the barns prioritize purchasing granite from warehouses and only go to the quarries when the warehouses do not have any granite. Even then, they don’t go to the nearby quarry but instead purchase from a distant quarry (because the price is cheaper there).
Ultimately, I think using a single warehouse is the only solution. If there were a setting that allowed each building’s employees to use only specific buildings for transporting certain materials, many of these problems would be resolved.

Do the developers even play this game? It’s unfortunate that there seem to be no further updates coming.
