Freemason
As someone who is a RL freemason. I was wondering if the masons within this game is going to be more on the real side, or the sci fi side the media has been putting out.

Without knowing it, my guess is the Sci fi side as you call it. No fun in playing Freemason if it's the RL version. ;)

Freemason is supposed to be an underground secret society where they don't share knowledge. Think you might have just broken a couple rules by posting this. :)

If it's underground, then why does all the lodges have a symbol on the side of the building, the numbers are on public phone books, and public websites.

It use to be somewhat underground, and it kinda is in some countries. But this is because the government in those places outlawed it. Also the church use to be very against it because Freemasons promotes freedom and knowledge for all. (a letter from the pope way back actually gets into this. So it's kinda funny how much the church use to wanted to keep people stupid.

On the Guild 3 site the Freemasons are regarded as an official society, the guild of stonemasons. I believe they are different from the speculative Freemasonry that emerged during the 17th century, which can indeed be considered a secret society.

According to the same source, the secret societies present in this game are the Artificers (the Dionisyan Arfificers, the legendary precursors of Freemasonry) and the Brotherhood of Life.

Speaking of secret societies, I think the game features two kinds of such entities: esoteric organizations, and those that operate from shadows and are related to a specific profession (Thieves Guild, The Warlocks).

Seriously? We have a hard enough time helping the local community, charities, and what not without people like yourself spreading lies.

Freemasons is not a religion, and we allow anyone from ANY religion to join. This is giving you're found to be a good and trustworthy person already (we don't need any nut jobs, and each member reflects upon the group).

And if you're really that paranoid. Then go visit a local lodge and ask them questions. They will be more than happy to answer most of your questions. When you do go to your local lodge, make sure it's not a clandestine lodge. Many clandestine lodges are scams, and some maybe exactly as what you're talking about.
Let me know what country you're in (and state if you're in the USA) if you need help knowing which lodge is mainstream.

On top of this, read Freemasons For Dummies. This will tell you even more than what your local lodge could tell you.

(NOTE: I wouldn't pull this paranoid crap on them. Ask, but don't tell them what they do. Also, don't try to trip them up and get them in a lie. If you do decide to join, this is a quick way to be deny.)

haha.... most free mason members dont know what the leaders do behind closed doors... that is, until they reach the top. Everyone thinks its a good and charitable organization.

Again, you don't know what you're talking about. You went from all masons are devil worshippers to the leaders do stupid stuff.

All the things the leaders do is a open book, and many of them hardly have enough time to do anything.
Again, if you want to know more and to know how wrong you are. Then pick up that book and ask your local lodge.

You're saying the crap that the anti masonic group in the 1828 said. This was the first 3rd party political group in USA that was going for the presidents seat. They only lasted for a few years.
The 3rd party leader used lies like blaming masons for the Industrial Revolution and people moving to the west. When that didn't work, they started using things from John Robison's book from 1798.

He was a known con artist, but he published an anti mason book. Later he said he was going to kill a mason in front of everyone at a given place and time. When the time showed up, he went out there and said something like look at all of your fools. You believe anything you read, and you would believe anything the church tells you (basically the pointing out how dependent people were to the church for knowledge was his goal). Instead of people agreeing with him and what not. They actually tried to kill him, and he had to go into hiding for a while.

So basically, because you don't want to do the basic research (and I'm handing you the keys to do it). When you say stuff like that, you are just blindly acting as a dead POLITICAL 3rd party, and a con artist.
