generally you have 2 options:
1. let the game do the transport for you (you can still manage the production and set storage rules and the transporter will calculate for you where they go and what they buy)
2. set up a manual route, this has to be done for each of the transporters and you have to figure out the available space etc yourself
For the manual setup there are still some situations that can happen that are ugly and caused mainly by the very fluid nature of the game. For example, if there is not enough storage space in one location, the transporter is not able to unload all of the goods and this can cause to block a slot that will be needed in the next stop of their route. Or a market/business does not have enough of one item nd your business production stops because of this.
There will probably be further improvements, but this will come in slowly over time, as we are observing the most commonly reported issues and will try to respond to those.
Example: Farm -> Mill. Instead of the transporter buying from the market, getting wheat from the Farm? Because when you manually set it to get from the farm, it never stops.
Also, for BOSPOR: You can use the "?" mark inside the business, on the top of the screen. It will lead you to a written tutorial. Then you scroll all the way down to the "Trade Routes" topic. It's really straightforward.
However, we are still investigating some bugs there, so if this does not work as you are expecting, please write to us! It really helps us.
We have not changes the manual setup in a while, so the ingame help should be up to date.
Actually I've randomly checked and unchecked all kinds of combinations in the Storage tab, but the Transport reacts somewhat propely only when I need to sell something. When I need it to buy something to keep my stock refilled - nothing happens.
I assume I can tell the Transported to go to Market manually and buy some Soap, but that would be quite annoying to always look for the Transported not to overkill and spend my starting money on too much Soap. I also assume I can't tell the Transported NOT to continue a manual route and stop buying Soap while there is 20 already available in the stock?
I just checked, that a barber can't buy soap at all. So, you need to increase your production. Hire more workers, increase productivity by add-ons for the building, or grind stones for the workers, or increasing their stats while leveling up. Remove other items from the to-do-list.
The thing is that my Barber's Hut is almost always full with customers even with 4 workers providing services, so I'm making the Soap in another building and want to supply it partially to the first Hut and sell the leftovers on Market / in front.
Actually I've found a video that seems to be explaining how this Min / Max is working and how to actually automate stuff. I'm not sure it will work with Barber's Hut, since Soaps indeed can't be procured, but I'll try to check whether using a Storehouse will work. Here is the link to the transportation part (the guys stumbles a bit with the production, but the Min / Max explaining was very helpful).
P.S.: The Steam doesn't seem to have a jump to time function, so the helpful part is at 17:35.
