Moving workers - one business to another
Hiya - looking to see if anyone can shed some light on whether this is possible or not but I can move workers/transporters from one business to another that is the same - in this case a 'crude craftsman hut' .. I wanted to move the business with workers/transport to a better location etc.

I can move the workers to the new business and they will work and produce - but if I destroy the old business building then they all disappear since they are not employed at the new business am guessing.

I cannot find a way to re-assign them / employ them a-new at the new business, is there something I am missing or does it not exist and just got to accept that?

It's been a while for the OP with no answer. I just bought the game recently and am wondering the same thing. Can workers be transferred from one business to another?

Hi,
this one must have slipped through the roster, sorry. Currently it is not possible, we are thinking about ways to make workers "reusable".

Maybe this is an idea... Once a player dismisses an employee he will go to a private pool of employees and stay their for a certain amount of time (e.g. 5 minutes of real time). The player can rehire the employee within the 5 minutes and after that, the employee moves to a public pool of employees where any family can hire this experienced employee.

It’d be a whole lot simpler with a “reassign” command with a dropdown of all your businesses. If there’s an open spot, they move.

Is this still not possible? Its an interessting option, when you initiall expand and want to move hired workers (same business type) to another city, so that my family characters can work at the one that is closer to the home. But I think this feature is more broad to different kinds of use cases.

This one is a 'No Brainer' and I find it very difficult to believe that this was not in the game before it was even released.
What the hell devs, let's get this in ASAP. Why am I wasting time developing workers, when I can't bring them with me as I progress?

When you run at max bussiness limits, these workers are not really important especially if each round costs 2 years. A simple grindstone on each of them can give more productivity than a single 1 dex attribute could.

How applicable would it be to use the same mechanic has henchmen have?
You can make them guard any building, right? So maybe a "Work" button then you pick a business would do the trick?

Just a suggestion.

There is a button like X if your family member is working in a business.
