How do you quip your character?

In the lower left you can change your character info window into a "character equipment screen" via the arrows at the side.
Drag and drop the items from your inventory to the specific slot there.

That doesn't do anything.. It is just like the storage up top. It doesn't put the dagger or sword in my hand. I'm getting fed up with the constant fighting the character gets into.. I mean i'm standing outside of the house.. and I get into three fights one right after another and I can't get into the house or run away. makes the game unplayable. There has to be a funciton that equips armor, weapons to use seperate from what I carry to the market.

Sorry, I just checked again and in fact it works with "left click to place on cursor" and then "left click in target slot".

I made a small gif to illustrate this, as it works for me. You might have to be patient, because the game takes some time to respond to your clicks.

It responds better (even though still not great unfortunately) when you pause the game when wanting to move items as well.

pausing is a good idea! Also zooming in helps (at least for me)

Yes and that also! There is a huge, huge, huuuuge difference in performance and response between the two really!

I see you used a sword. Presumably because of the sword slot... but what about axes and daggers. I tried really I know it sounds like i'm an idiot but I tried even to change the armor. Started to feel as if the game is tormenting me...laughing at my feeble attempts

Hmm strange. Maybe some items can not be equipped as of now! There still are a lot of bugs after all.
I will test equipping all kinds of items later to see If i can reproduce the issue.

One thing i noticed while testing before was that you can not equip items, when another window (e.g. from a workshop or building) is open. You have to close all windows first. Have you tried that?

So I tried to equip some things, and everything from the blacksmith and tailor buildings worked for me. This includes clothing, the dagger, gloves and necklaces.

If you still encounter these issues you might want to delete all of your savegames and verify the game on Steam. For some reason this seems to help with some bugs.

The last resort would be to wait for the devs to fix the game :-)
