Automated Trade Routes
Hi all,

I am running a Poor Fellow as a serf, but none of my business's allow automated trade routes- I cannot set a trade route to share goods between my businesses OR to my warehouse. the only trade route it allows is the 'STORAGE MANAGEMENT'

Am i doing something wrong or is this just not working yet?

Automated trade routes are the “play button” next to your transporter (after you hire one) no other characters can “automatically transport stuff” except transporter

You can make player made routes from that menu!

I've never had the AI trade routes work properly. They don't stock enough supplies and the workers run out before the day is even over and just sit idle. Most of the time it will take things to the market to sell and come back empty handed. Also, when it does decide to restock supplies, it only fills 2 of the cart slots... and usually without even getting full stacks. Manual routes are even worse because come morning time the thing has been filling up with supplies all night, now the store is full and the cart is full so he can't take finished goods to sell.

That whole aspect is kind of a mess right now.

Hiya,

Yeah thats the ones im on about, the ones you set up in the trade menu and then they get carried out automatically by the transporters.

for example, I am making barley flour in the Mill, I need that to go to my warehouse ready for my Bakery transporter to collect it.

So I select my Mill trade routes - I click create a new trade route - I select handcart - I click save - I then set my trade route to collect final products from Mill and then set the next location to the Warehouse and set that to dropoff the final products from the Mill - I click save again - I then drag the new trade route over onto my transporter - The transporter then sits there and does absolutley NOTHING for about 40 seconds before cancelling the trade route and sitting motionless inside the Mill.

I have tried the above steps ( seperatley ) by selecting the AI products, the AI rescources, the actual final product itself (the barley wheat), I have even tried to set it so that the whole collection and dropoff of products is decided by the AI itself.

But ultimatley nothing works.

The ONLY thing that seems to work is the Storage Management and that only collects 20 of anything at any time and generally leaves me without any stock for large periods of time whilst it goes to collect more and sell products even though there is PLENTY of the raw rescource available for it to collect a multitude at the start.

Yes I have had the same issue, have you made sure your stock management for resources are set at 20 instead of the base line 1? that might be why your transporter isnt collecting more resource because your base line resource limit is already fulfilled?

What you are talking about is not automation of transporter but automation of product choice (which does not work)

https://youtu.be/j8sLYlqiYoQ

This is not a intentional plug but this is how you do it!

What I do in this video is “true” automation, what you want to do is a player made trade route with automatic resource selector

Hope it helps!

m'kay but skimming through first 10 minutes your video is irrelevant mumblings and still doesn't make sense how to use the trade route even at start of game. With your thing well into the game makes it completely irrelevant too just starting out.
