If you use the Renaissance version on Steam, after an Oos just send the save-file to your friend and both of you are sync'ed again. Also, it does not happen as frequent as with Pirates of the Hansa and other earlier versions of TheGuild2.
Sadly the guy is shy to make new friendships and doesn't trust anybody :D
No, people assume that because you are not open to new contacts and being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ online.
How do you make new friends(e-friends) if you already start with ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ assumptions like 'i dont trust you'
Also, those examples are your own fault, play with people who you had fun with. Your own mistrust is created by yourself between those 2 ears in your brain.
Why you would let griefers, cheaters or what-ever ruin your gaming fun is beyond me, there's enough people that play fair and square.
So I don't get what the ♥♥♥♥ your problem is with people.
Some people just like to cut off their nose to spite their face.
You are welcome to dislike multiplayer Slayah, but don't try to manipulate developers or other people into that mentality. You'll encounter far less opposition and hostility.
The problem wasn't necessarily that they had MP, it was the fact that they forced it on you, required always online DRM, and their servers couldn't handle the load. If they had launched the game with SP mode as well, the launch of that game wouldn't have been anywhere near the disaster it was.
I feel a lot of the time developers and publishers misunderstand the player base when they say "I wish this game was multiplayer".
You get the likes of XCOM with a crap tacked-on, novelty PVP skirmish as it's "Multiplayer" rather than co-op campaign that loads were hoping for.
You get Bethesda, whom have had people baying for a multiplayer Elder Scrolls since the days of Morrowind and instead we get a cookie-cutter MMO (Elder Scrolls Online) rather than a 2-4 player version of the free roam adventure we all expect from an Elder Scrolls title.
The real multiplayer success stories, in my opinion, are the ones that let you enjoy the "Single Player Experience" with your friends co-operatively or competitively (Dying Light, Neverwinter Nights, Borderlands, Divinity 2, The Guild) or have been built from the ground up to support a Multiplayer equivalent of the main game with as few features dumbed down or absent as possible. (Farcry 3, Splintercell Blacklist).
But then, I pick my companions so I have a degree of control over my experience. I don't play with randoms because I know what I'm likely going to get.
TL;DNR:
My opinion is that Multiplayer only truly sucks if it's cheaply done or feels nothing like the Main / Default Game.
Hey slayah, sorry that you have no friends. I play the guild 2 with friends in a lanparty CO-OP-style.. We smoke and drink and just enjoy outselves.
It's a whole lot of fun! hope you manage to work on bettering your disposition and personality and find some friends in the future to play the guild 3 with.
I'm rooting for you!
I play it with the wife and we are hoping with the guild 3 we can include a few of our steam friends. Multiplayer is a must! Oh, and as a side note my wife absolutily loves playing the rogue. Please include the Hedge tavern that's her favorite.
I would beg you to reconsider, fans willing to put up with The Guild 2 at all are surely prepared to stomach crashes at regular intervals. We're already passing around savegame files over every OoS or reverting to autos.
This is very much a LAN party game for a lot of people and while I definitely respect that you've tried to make it a less solved equation, that will simply make it more fun to tackle with friends.
So if it's really a question of "gee maybe this ain't quite prime time" I implore you to give it to us even at an early, crashy stage. If it's more complicated than that then I understand but we're really looking forward to this game and hope to share that experiene with one another ASAP! <3
I been a gamer since the 80's...thats a matter of an opinion. So some people like to socialize., Hence the name Guild... There are plenty of single player games on the market.
It honestly sounds like you have personal issues with other people in any multiplayer game. Why not develop a friendship with like minded mature players, and play MP games with them? I have had zero issues playing any type of MP game over the past 20+ years, whether it be local co-op or over the internet.
Instead of projecting your hatred towards gamers who enjoy MP games, you should stick with a very basic statement, something like "I don't care for the MP experience".
Anyone else who does enjoy MP is not detracting from YOUR game experience, as you are playing in single player mode, which is perfectly fine, that is YOUR choice. Just stop projecting false and deliberate hateful talk that your past MP experience encompasses anyone who like to play MP games.
If you aren't worried about OOS issues, then it would be to your benefit to release the MP gameplay parts at the beginning of early access. Having crash reports from different OS, computer setups, etc, would help your team identify the crash issues faster and across far more diverse configurations.
