If you buy early access, do not review the game until its released.
So many people buy an early access game then write some stupid negative review because they experience a bug. And then even after all the EA issues are fixed, these people never edit their reviews.

Be fair to this game and wait until its finalized before passing judgement.

If you experience bugs, report the bugs Dont go to write a review to whine about it. If you do write a review, make sure you update it when the game is finished.

If a comapny feels their game is ready for early access, then they should be ready to receive reviews for it based on that state. Prison Arhcitect, 7 Days to Die, Rimworld, etc. etc. etc. have all been relased via EA and have had astoundingly good reviews. Other crap games, are realeased as crap and given their appropriate reviews.

well reviews will be mixed thats my guess. not positive. they hvnt shown any gameplay video & guys who hv played at gamescom saying its optimization is terrible & feels like the guild 2 with slightly better graphics. so I am not getting my hopes up for this one.

Reviews already indicate if they were done in early access or post-release.

Additionally, i believe there are also indicators for previous builds of the game.

So even if we do review, and it gets updated, people will see the review is outdated

Golly Gee... how in the world did we survive before steam came along and gave us a review system? How did we complain back then?

Those games you mention also have negative reviews going back to before release, so that point is moot.

Yes but whether EA review or not it still counts. Lots of people make really redundant and stupid EA reviews that never go away and forever affect sales and impressions.

Like..

1. Bad game, dont buy.
2. cant run on 10000x6000 resolution. Thumbs down

Stupid ♥♥♥♥ like that.

Each person that buys the game goes in with certain expectations. If their expectations are not met, they are free to post a negative review.

It's also why steam doesn't allow you to just post a thumbs up/down. You have to actually write something.

You can easily put in a few minutes of effort to see if the negative reviews are low-effort trolling.

Well forgive me for trying to change people minds. There is nothing wrong with my suggestion.

Of course there is. Reviews are what can make or break a game on steam.

If you saw a game that's been out for 6 months, and no one has reviewed it... don't you think you'd be a little suspicious?
Glaziola Aug 25, 2017 @ 11:23pm
The moment they take money for the game they should be ready for the game to be judged.
If they where to gift it to me for testing OK, but when I pay money for a product I will judge it.

For most part EA became an excuse to discredit everyone who says something bad about a game while still demanding the full price.

EA game players have an obligation to provide honest and accurate reviews - as such it is vastly important to have negative reviews and honest criticism of the product. Other gamers rely on those reviews during purchases - if you think we should only make positive reviews... I wonder if you are also pro fraud... since it's essentially the same thing.

The steam reviews should specify which build version the reviewer reviewed based on the date of the review and what version was available, and ask the user if they would like to update their review - other than that.... you are way off base!
EvilGeniusRo Aug 26, 2017 @ 1:09am
If only Valve would separate the EA game reviews from the finished product reviews, that way the feedback from EA won't affect the score of the final game and like dLo said, Steam should automatically detect and show in the review what version of the game you had when your wrote it.

It's gonna ruin everything.

I agree fully with this, please do not do this, you buy EA, It isn't fully finished, there will be bugs and things you will get annoyed by, so please, if you even do this, give it a thumb up, just only because those who wanna play this game, got the thing they want, the release in EA.
