[SPOILERS] Eric and Mira, Zero and Sean, Diana and Sigma
Hi! Just wanted to ask a couple questions, the third one probably isn't answered anywhere but just wanted to make sure haha.
1) What is the deal with Eric's backstory? I've finished the game and completed every node so I don't think I'm missing anything but I don't understand what his past about his dad and brother had to do with anything. Also people are saying his mother is called Virginia, but I can't find that anywhere? It also seems obvious Mira killed his mum with smiling thing but I don't know why he wouldn't react to this. ALSO (sorry lol) in the ending where Mira rips his heart out, Eric says something like "she only needs one more" so it seems like he knew about the killings yet this isn't the case the rest of the game? Please help if you know the story better or anything, I'm pretty lost as you can see haha.

2) What is the relationship between Zero and Sean? Once again, I feel it has something to do with that doctor car crash thing but I just had no idea what that meant and I don't think it was ever explained fully. Sorry if it was and I didn't understand ha.

3) Is there any info on Diana and Sigma after the events of the game? There are files for Carlos, Junpei and Akane and Sean, Mira and Eric but I can't see one for Diana and Sigma and they're not mentioned in the others. It's a bit of a shame if they don't have one so was just wondering if there was a secret one out there or anything!

Thanks for any help with any of these, I admit I played the game really weirdly as I had no idea about half the passwords so just looked them in and put them in lol. Like I'm pretty sure I opened the Door of Truth first which uh I don't think you're supposed to do haha. Anyway, again thanks for any help! Or if these have been discussed before let me know :)

1) In the scene before Q Team votes at the beginning, Sean starts rattling off facts about the Heart Ripper killings, including the names of the first few victims. The first victim was named Virginia.

Eric's backstory helps to explain how he became so emotionally fragile that when he met Mira he latched on to her completely (because of his dad) and why he's so hostile to Sean (because of his brother).

2) I think Zero feels a connection to Sean because the boy he was based on was all alone, just like Zero was. I think he met the boy in real life and befriended him, but I'm not 100% sure.

3) Yeah, the epilogue was pretty bare bones compared to VLR. I guess we're supposed to use our imaginations?

Ahhhh thank you so much for all the info! The help with the first two definitely makes sense. I forgot about that little detail at the start haha, thanks. But yeah for the last, it is a shame we don't get to know about the characters after the events of the series considering we've spent so much time with them. RIP Diana and Sigma I guess lol. Thank you again for replying! Have a great day :)
for question 2, i think zero met human sean in the hospital and was moved by his efforts for living so zero decided to make sean a copy these 9 people are all connected by that snail story of his a surgeon didnt catch a taxi and caused sean's death
diana and sigma met on the moon or the vlr timeline in one of the files

3. VLR timeline is one of the bad ends. There is no epilogue about them in true end.
But well, the whole point of the true end is that "you will continue to make dicisions all your life, so a lot of opportunities and timelines lie ahead"

Ahhh that makes a lot of sense actually, thank you! Completely forgot that every single character has to be connected in some way so it makes sense Zero ties into that too. Thanks for your help!

That last quote definitely makes sense, thanks for the new perspective. I guess I usually like games to be tied up nicely yet with the kind of themes the ZE games take on I should've realised that wouldn't be the case with this one haha. Thanks for your reply!!

I'm trying to remember how everyone was connected by the snail:

Mira - Her first kill as the Heart Ripper
Eric - His mother was the jogger who was killed
Akane - (and Santa) - Their father was the Japanese man who was found guilty of the murder and was executed, causing their mother to commit suicide
Sean - The human Sean was waiting for an operation by a genius surgeon who was killed when his taxi crashed: he only got into that particular taxi because Akane's father had just been pulled out of it when he was arrested... without the surgeon Sean died
Junpei - Is chasing Akane because of what happened in 999, if her parents were alive it is possible she never would have been kidnapped and dragged him into his first Nonary Game
Delta - Sean was his friend, but on a much larger level if 999, VLR and ZTD had not happened he may not have existed at all because of how the time loops worked (same for Phi)
Sigma - Not connected directly, but without the Radical-6 timeline, he wouldn't have been started his mental time loop and entered the Mars simulation, I guess
Diana and Carlos - I'm not sure how they are connected to the snail

It's too bad we'll probably never see a 4th game.

i think the end of ztd basically tells you there would be a sequel so why did they stop making a sequel
ps i think this end lets a serial killer walks free is insane

Oooo thanks for laying it all out! Maybe Diana is connected in some way via her abusive husband? Since that was a kinda random fact dropped in the game so mayyyy link to something else. Not sure about Sigma though! I can't remember why he was selected for the ZTD game in the first place. He was needed to make Delta eventually but can't remember his motivation for joining in the first place, if he had one.

I guess they just wanted to create an open ending kind of thing. It would've been nice to have a next game and a truly happy ending but I guess we won't see that :(
Also yeah it is quite wild haha. They couldn't prove he was a killer though so I guess they just had to trust he wouldn't start some other bs lol.

and i think someone from ztd shifted to vlr ending in kyles body if you remember im still trying to figure out who that is and phi seems to know everything in that
ending she probably shifted too

Oh yes I remember that!! It seemed like maybe it was just meant to be us, the player, in Kyle but I only thought that before playing ZTD, yet after playing the final game... hmm. The only person who seems kindaaa logical for that would've been Delta but he can't shift. Interesting. I guess it'll never be answered so any theory you come up with could work haha.

For anyone who wants more Uchikoshi written goodness, check out the Infinity series, especially Ever 17.

The games are very loosely connected to each other, so you can start wherever you want, and I think they all have translated versions available.

Thanks for the recommendation! I'd never heard of these games and they seem like something I'd probably be interested in :)

Ummm... so I guess they're working on remakes for the Infinity Series that I didn't know about when I commented, but I guess that's a thing now.
