!SPOILER! Why are they alive?

So the virus end is "canon" (Sigma lost arms, virus spread through Phi and Diana said her line that we saw in VLR). But Junpei and Akane died in this ending, but in the VLR they are still around. How dose it make any sense. Any theories?

If you had played VLR you would know that all the endings are canon and you haven't completed that ending yet.

the answer lies in another ending.

they teleported from another history to the canon ending that starts virtue's last reward, so they both exist and Akane makes Junpei forget everything
