30 hours! So what do you do exactly? It's basically a serie of "trials" where you decide who dies between a choice of people? 30 hours is really good
It's a complex series of events where you'll have to make some choices. Different choices will have different outcomes that will lead to new strings of choices and events to play. There are also various 'puzzle rooms' where you'll have to solve a number of cryptic puzzles in order to find your way out of the room and progress the story.
And do you play one of these nine, or you play a sort of narrator who manages survivors and the "good" endings are based on specific people surviving?
Something like the latter, you'll see the events unfold from various perspectives (usually one of the three 'teams' made up of three characters each) through various parts of the timeline.
Are you familiar at all with the game's predecessors (999 and Virtue's Last Reward)?
Nope, never played any of the other titles. I do appreciate the prompt replies however.
You should really play the other titles before getting into ZTD. It's extremely story-driven and 4 of the 9 characters are from VLR and 999. Only about 2 hours into it and there has already been loads of references and plot-related mentions to the prequels. I would assume that playing through Zero Time Dilemma could become quite confusing as the story progresses for someone who hasn't played the other games.
