In their recent interview they stated that they want to keep the simple controls for VF6.
I hope they will add 4 buttons , instead of 3 buttons.Low kick , high kick , low punch , high punch
If they want to make the game easier for new people they should make defending easier.
Like street fighter or soul calibur 1 and 2.
Just my opinion but the devs seem to have the right idea what vf6 needs from what I’ve heard so far.
Side steps / evades are just a single press of 8 or 2, the most complicated command for many characters is something like 66P+K, most complicated throw is 426P+G, throw escape is just holding P+G and a direction and so on.
How could you make it even more casual friendly without turning it into something like Fantasy Strike?
Low kick , high kick , low punch , high punch
one button to do a very long and finish combo?
What's the point of that? Long combos are boring, and if it's just one button attack why not a single attack with the same amount of damage so you and your opponent can continue playing sooner and don't have to watch a mini cutscene.
edit:
If REVO is any indication for VF6 combos will get easier, though.
Tekken its not for me , thats for sure , especially Tekken 8 which is automated and more for casual players.I like very much VF 1,2,3,4,5 so I hope they will update the gameplay over all , because VF need some updates in gameplay mechanics.
- They can remove stagger or make it easier to break on a controller.
- Throws can be easier to break like in Tekken or Soul Calibur.
- There can be less difficult strings with low/mid mixups so blocking can be easier like in Street Fighter.
But I really hope they won’t make attacking easier as it will make the game more difficult to play for everyone with constant 50/50 casino hard reads.
How could you make throw escape easier while upholding the strike > throw > guard triangle?
What do you mean by less difficult strings?
To make it easier they can make it 50/50 (two break options) and possible to break on reaction like it was in VF5 vanilla and older games. Soul Calibur has the easiest throw breaking.
VF5 doesn’t have that many but longer block strings that hit mid-low-mid, or mid-low-low-mid are generally one of the hardest things to defend for new players. That’s why so many new Tekken players despise string heavy characters like Hwoarang, Lars, Nina or Zafina.
So in general they can make blocking easier. SF for example use low block to defend against 95% of attacks and people seem to like it.
