Does this have a good tutorial mode?
I heard that VF4 had one of the best tutorial modes in fighting game history, and it covered stuff like fuzzy guard and other advanced topics.

Does this port extensively cover tutorial of core game mechanics? Does it give frame data for every move? Also, does it teach it character-specific stuff like BRB or how to optimize each character?

Does the tutorial cover stuff like fuzzy guard and option select? What about basic combos for each character?

The tutorial teaches you all the basics you need to know (No Fuzzy guard or OS) but there's 2 versions of combo trials for each character (For full wall and half wall combos)

Not bad.
It should have had a video of each move* in the command list like other fighting games today so that new players could see each move. Bare bones.

The tutorial suffices.
Has also combo. Its the complete thing
It's very basic and gives only generic info. Fuzzy guard is among the most complicated mechanic it covers.

For total newbies it's hardly any help.

edit:
You have command training, too. And you can let the game display all frame data.

Yeah might i add you can be innovative after u know everything.
Thank you for all the feedback everyone.

Do you think it is worth buying the more expensive version with customizations, or is the base game good enough?

I don't really care about skins, but if the extra version gives new voice announcers for each round or new music, then I might be convinced.

More music options, yes. Haven't read anything about new announcers, though.

Yes on the music. And i wanted to support Sega and VF. The most fun customization pack is probably the Classic pack and the Tekken one but it's all preference.

Also the special edition comes with a BIG album for your steam account with a bunch of VF music.

(531 Tracks. About 18 Hours long)

Thats a lot. Part of me wants to support this game, but I don't like the way that Sega handled this release. They should have been upfront about the game being barebones, which is something that Capcom regularly does. I don't want to reward bad behaviors, but VF5 is legit a good title.

Yeah no prob if it's not your thing get the base edition.

I will say however although it is barebones so was the Ultimate showdown version on PS4/PS5.

All the extra features and customizations are in the original Xbox360/PS3 version before they made the game in a new engine for these past 2 versions.
I was surprised to see that ground parrying was not taught in the tutorial but somehow it can be guessed anyway as far as you understand the gameplay logic.

Nontheless, the tutorial is good enough to get VF basic meta.
