at first this happened ocasionally, but today it started to happen every 2 matches in ranked mode... (it doesn't matter if the conection is green, red or yellow)
I have to close the game (alt f4) and open it again because it gets stuck in a black screen trying to go back to the menu...
Any fixes? any ideas? is so annoying!!!
I hope the developers will fix it, I don't want to downgrade the graphics in order to play online.
I guess I'll wait a few weeks before playing this game again, just to see if the problems are resolved.
When I try to cancel matchmaking to go back to main menu, the game will just get stuck on black screen with the "searching for players" still showing. Only way to exit is to End task/Alt+F4 on Windows to go back to desktop.
* sometimes totally freezes the game, especially when wanting to return to the main menu
* sometimes is in infinite loop but with the training mode still running, meaning you'll never find an opponent again, until you return to the main menu and relaunch the search
==> there is definitily a problem with the opponent search, i can stuck the whole game, and stuck itself with "stucking" the game.
Connectivity
* you have to wait 5 seconds to be sure the advertised opponent connection is as green as it was at the beginning. Usually lies. But at least, we just have to wait 5 sec.
* after lot of refusal because the "real opponent's connectivity is red", the search can stuck itself and does nothing anymore.
* tell if it is WIFI (SF6 does it, so it can be done)
* allow to block wifi users (that should be our right)
Region filter : just add a region filter, i am in Europe, i don't want to play outside Europe, that's all. Or if it is already like this, document it in the game in the UI.
* netcode : doesn't look that good, and i am 60 fps
moves in this games take 12 frames at least, it is not SF6 with 4 frames moves. So it shouldn't be as hard to have something ok
-fps issues/drops ONLY when playing online, and has NOTHING to do with graphics/gpu settings.
-using steam's fps display, simply stand in ranked matchmaking training to watch fps drop for a split second and go back up.
-rollback is one-sided.
-dropping fps causes rollback for the other player, and dropped inputs.
-because of this, lag switching is an issue in higher ranked matches. i've seen connections go crazy at the very end of some rounds intentionally.
I reported this during the beta and nothing was changed.
if anything the online is worse in this final release and now stops matchmaking randomly or even freezes.
win10, i7-7700k, 3080ti, 64gb ram.
wired connection and ran on an internal ssd.
REVO is definitely eating inputs. Not sure what causes it but it seems to manifest in the buffer window. It's almost like the window disappears at times. It becomes very noticeable in competitive play.
Myself and a couple other competitive players in my scene have noticed it offline. KNR specifically noticed it at Frostys.
I just about had it with sega and these kinds of issues.
I want a proper reply [Sega] Carlos
If you are using a gaming display, disable G-SYNC or disable fullscreen mode.
