Anything with a Sanwa JLF or Hori Hayabusa lever in it will be solid. Most sticks use the JLF so most will be fine.

Both Hori and Qanba are reliably good. Just do your research on the specific stick to make sure they have good components.

If you're building from scratch, it's down to personal preference (obviously). As a rule of thumb, I like K-sticks for motion-light inputs and when there's frequent snapping back to neutral; and I like J-sticks for motion-heavy inputs. For buttons, I prefer the ones that come with silver switches. I hope that helps

Mi basic Sanwa stick, and buttons are fine.

Consider a leverless. Haute42 are great and inexpensive

Get Hitbox. My recommendation is MayFlash F500 FLAT (or FLAT Elite).

Elite version has Sanwa buttons.

Even though i grew up in arcades, I am not good with arcade sticks. I used to have a Hori i think. I'm using a Razer V3 wolverine wireless and wired Xbox controller and it's amazing. It has hall effect analog sticks and polling rate of 1000hz when wired. The buttons all have a very clear and satisfying click as well as the directional pad. The best controller imo outside of those lever less joints.
