VF is a far smarter, sophisticated game series. Tekken is big, flashy and bombastic, and that's got a huge audience.
But VF is for serious fighting game fans.
But no, unlikely to beat it in terms of player numbers. Tekken appeals to casuals, and VF doesn't (thank god)
However, it was only available on ps4 when this one is a multiplatform and with some level of promotion.
Tekken 8 made so many fans angry and willing to change so there is hope. Time will tell.
Yea im also annoyed with Tekken though I don't own the game...just hate how fraudulent the company is!!!
Yea who knows.... People like new shiny objects especially for the intrigued ones
Everything is always hyped in the beginning lol
I had no idea some disliked glamorous theme 😆 lol
But who really knows??? People are fickle anyway... Street fighter has more players than Tekken
Vf5 Revo seems like a tease to distract us from VF6 lolz 😂
Bottom line, I don't see this game beating Tekken, at least not in the next few years. Not when that series has so much more momentum and marketing behind it whilst Virtua Fighter is gradually making a return after many years of lingering in relative inactivity. Again, neither of this is a judgement on the relative quality of either series, or which one is better than the other, it's just the situation we're in at this moment.
But speaking as a big Tekken fan for many years, who only got to play Virtua Fighter in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon arcades, I'm really excited to get into Virtua Fighter for real. And hopefully some healthy competition means Bamco will have to do more with the Tekken series than just fill it with some of the worst monetization schemes in existence. Now wouldn't that be something?
It’s a 18y old game but at 4K. I’m personally excited but I expect the game to be mostly played via Discord.
Tekken is doing well now. The game is selling, it has a stable, fairly large online presence, and there is cross-play. A lot of participants register at major Tekken tournaments, more only in SF6. This Sega needs to learn from Bandai
Also Ring Outs always make for a fun time, unfortunately Soul Calibur always found ways to nerf those.
