Why is everyone so... hateful..

It would seem to me that Call of Duty automatically gets hate as if it were a norm in the gaming industry. Now sure, I've never played the old Call of Duty games... Except 3, so I know some of the older players hate the fact it's changed from WWII shooter to futuristic technological based warfare.

But thing is, people really nitpick it for ridiculous reasons other games aren't nitpicked for. They say that this game is the same thing every year and, as a follower of the Black Ops series, that is entirely untrue. Black Ops I was a gritty 1960's-1970's game based around a group of spec-ops soldiers "Alex Mason," "Frank Woods," and "Jason Hudson" going behind enemy lines in Vietnam and Russia. It has tons of references to conspiracies and was actually contraverisal for some of its missions.

Black Ops II was about Alex Mason's son, David Mason, and his dark past revolving around Raul Menendez, who killed Jason Hudson and [Manipulated Frank Woods into killing Alex] [Nearly caused the death of Alex by manipulating Frank Woods, but was unsuccessful due to Frank's suspicious] The game focuses on the idea of "What if our near-future military consisted of drones... And we lost the keys to the enemies..."

Both games had their pro's and con's, and your game experience may differ from what you were lookng for (The campaign, the multiplayer, or the zombies) but simply saying "it's the same game every year" without even trying to see how the games differ is like judging a book by its cover.

50 bucks for a season pass that will include rehashed/recycled maps form old COD games,also yearly releases that change almost nothing. and no dedicated servers for PC players...this is highway robbery man, if you want to defend a company that is trying to milk its playerbase dry then go for it but if you need to ask why most hate this franchise by now then maybe you should do more research.

its just disgusting and a reminder of why the gaming industry is sinking further into a crap hole every year.

I like the singleplayer campaigns of the COD games. I've never bothered playing multiplayer. This is rare i believe.

I've played them all. Literally. Since the first one way back in 2003 (which is still the best imo :p) I get flak for it every year from several friends. But I play them for the sp, the mp dies off too quick.

On a more serious tone, CoD2 was the first game in the series to implement auto health-regenerate system. Caused quite a bit of a stir back then. But obviously more favored the new system as the series never went back to the 'pick up a health pack to heal' route.

I lost interest in CoD after MW2, but I honestly don't mind that people are still playing it.

It's because I can prepurchase the game, AND the season pass, six months before release.
They haven't even showed any gameplay. It seems wrong, and is one of the biggest problems in the industry.
