Is the T7 patch really needed?
All I'm doing is playing co op campaign and zombies.

I played a good bit a while back with the T7 Patch, but is it actually needed for solo and co op play? I have no clue what the current state of the game is atm.

Its not necessary for solo or Co-op play (with your friends), but its nice to have running since it fixes the performance issues. You SHOULD run the patch if you are going to play multiplayer PVP or Public matches of Zombies since it will protect your PC from attackers using RCE exploits, it is decently common to happen.

I thought the RCE exploits were fixed already, at least that is what it says on the T7 github.

...but gotcha. It isn't needed, but worth using in zombies just to help with the bugs in some maps (Gorod Krovi EE for example). Co op campaign is fine with private lobbies too. Good to know

Do people even play pvp anymore in this game?

I read that the T7 patch can cause some crashing with custom maps. Have you had any experience with that?

If you want the real truth there's actually no problem with the game there's no virus or malware like everyone is saying it's actually this thing called mxt which is a mod menu so it is it's got a client option which is what allows people to crash your game, disconnect you and that's about it there's no hacking option or nothing it's all just a misguide and exaggeration. All t7 does is ghost your name from that client list so you can't get crashed or disconnected. Personally I use t7 just to stop that menu freeze and lag when you click on weapon kit or gobblegum customization.

Ah gotcha gotcha. Yeah I remember people using MXT back in BO2 and whatnot.

Sometimes you'd have people mod the lobbies in MW2 so it played like Quake with low gravity and high movement speed, and other times you'd just have people crash to lobbies.

On a side note, the menu lag and whatnot is caused by Steam's method of checking DLC content. Your mileage may vary, but I've fixed the menu lag / freezing when playing the campaign without T7 by having all the DLC installed. That may fix it for you also.

Fairs m8 but yeah the reality of it is it's just people using mxt it's not life threatening or anything just irritating when someone uses it to kick you especially if your in the middle of doing an ee and the biggest problem is youtubers are spamming guides on it. To be fair they aren't encouraging people to use the client settings they are showing them how to get unlimited gobblegum which i would say is fair considering it saves people wasting money on microtransactions if I'm being honest myself I used the mxt just to force unlock dark matter considering mp is near enough dead and the fact soe was doing my head in so much with people leaving on the last ee step that I just manipulated the game to register that I completed it so I could do revelations to earn the 2 achievements and super ee award other than that I never exploited with it.

MXT never existed in bo2.

MXT is not the reason to use the patch and never has been.

There are still ways to RCE your game. Use the patch its not that hard.

I thought the RCE issues were patched in BO3? It says that they were on the T7 Github at any rate.

Is MXT not the blanket term for the cheats / modding that people did in BO2 and the older games? I'm not that familiar with the stuff people used to make the modded lobbies and whatnot

Ah fair enough. Thought it was just a blanket term

Are RCEs still an issue though, or is the game fine like the T7 Github states (and the last updates for BO3 had a lot of security passes)?

I have not have not experience any crashes on custom maps with the T7 patch yet. I have been using the patch for over a year. There is a small amount of players that still play PVP in the game, it will take time to find a match since most players are here for Zombies.

I personally discovered a few more RCEs. Dunno if the public knows about them yet but to be safe i'd just only play with network password. This was stated in the video i published a while ago.

Ah I didn't know you made youtube videos

...but gotcha. So for a rule of thumb T7 Patch with zombies.

Unfortunately T7 isn't compatible with the campaign of the game, so just having that on private lobby should be good enough?

Glad to hear, and thank you for your work to help the Zombies community!

If I may ask another question, are Infinite Warfare, WW2, and BO4 subject to the RCEs? A friend and I were looking at working through every zombie map, and we aren't sure if IW, WW2, and BO4 are safe. BO1 and BO2 are in Plutonium, BO3 has your amazing work, and CW is good to go.

Thank you again for your hard work with the community!
